You don't get it. It's a giant prison. Israel doesn't want their land, and Palestine is not allowed to leave. The population density inside of Gaza nearly 50x that of Israel. Their cover was blown immediately at the checkpoint at which point a gunfight broke out and some on both sides were hit. The Israelis hightailed it back to their area while air assets bombed their six as they left.

That was the start. At this point things changed and the two started lobbing rockets/bombs at each other with Israel targeting known Hamas command structure and Hamas just blind firing rockets.

Not good enough. Your air force generals were asked in the ealy 1950s, if they'd had nukes in the last years of WW2, would they have used them in Europe? They all said no. Not only does it contaminate the region you're moving your soldiers in, it's also less efficient. You can carpet bomb entire cities with conventional explosives more cheaply and with more control over what to destroy and what to leave for the occupation that you ever could with nukes.

In the Middle East, that would work even better as they have more urban population than we do in Europe. Concentrate your bombings on the buildings and on the water- and electricity lines, and you could have your peace in the middle east with 10 sorties or less.
