AK fag here, while food is expensive, the lower 48s is catching up fast. Housing up here is cheaper and the wages are better, only thing that really blows is the women are fucking whores. Men out number women and they know it. Be prepared to blanda up with a native or an Asian as there are a bunch of em in Anchorage. Also, Alaska has a fuck ton of natives. Most likely i'll end up with one, anglo women here have soured me, most of my friends are divorced, been cheated on multiple times and are having to pay out a lot of shekels to their ex's. At least with a native you get access to reservation land and a built in family. Granted, the alcoholism here on the reservations is awful but it's the same in the white parts of the state too. Go to a bar in Anchorage on a saturday night, wow. You will see trucks flipped upside down in the winter, it's literally a gamble with your life to drive drunk here, the probability of hitting a patch of ice and dying is greater than being pulled over by a cop.

Not really, if anything it will be less gibs for the white folks. The natives are more or less self sustaining because unlike a lot of the tribes down there the natives up here sent their kids to law school and negotiated better treaties. The Tlingits and Inuits are loaded, many of em have better school buildings than the white people do.

Want to know who the natives up here really hate? Niggers. In the 90s the crips tried moving in and made the mistake of living in small towns close to the natives. Be warned, outside of Anchorage people can be very clannish. They've always disliked outsiders, that's really escalated in the past years with Wasilla and Eagle river getting developed. People live up here for a reason.

He didn't realize how depressing it was until he moved to a high pop density place like new york. I would at least suggest a weekend visit yo a major metropolitan area before you resign yourself to Alaska forever
