in conscription, during a winter exercise, my team of five had a girl in it. we slept in a tent when it was like -40C. one night during this exercise, we were supposed to be taught how to check for frostbite or any damage to feet from cold. you take your shoes and socks off, close your eyes, and let someone prod random toes with a needle, then you respond which toe was prodded. if you didn't feel anything, it could be beginnings of frostbite.
anyway, this girl REFUSED to take her socks off, or have anyone near her feet. some sort of phobia i assume. she didn't listen to the team leader. we called for the lieutenant in charge of our camp and he hadn't heard of anything like that before. after a long time of arguing, she was ok but only if we left the tent and it was done by a girl from another tent, alone. there were other stories like that too, with her and some other girls.
it's just bizarre.
