As the seasons change in my northern ontario neighborhood - the relatively unchanged landscape interwoven with the advancements of whites of european ancestry like myself bring a sense of burning pride.
Owen Adams
What's the general attitude towards the crown and Britain in General in canuckland? Do Canadians feel British?
Robert Collins
ok thanks for this cringe boomer
Jack Bell
>What's the general attitude towards the crown and Britain in General in canuckland? Do Canadians feel British? nobody really gives a shit until someone compares us to America. most Canadians don't feel 'British' because they aren't and the ones that are don't care for the most part, or they join historical reenactment groups and masturbate over it there.
Lincoln Reyes
That's unfortunate, so what are the usual things most normie Canadians feel national pride about, if at all?
Juan Clark
its not like people don't have any pride in the Crown in Canada. it's just not a thing that is brought up very often,
Julian Watson
normally they dont - its people have direct links or can trace their lineage back to when their ancestors originally came over that have the sense of british colonialism. They've really done some pro-native revisionism lately in history classes, im only in my mid 20s, but in elementary school we spent most of the time on the explorers and that's where i picked it up.
Adrian Rivera
all my ancestors were british imperial loyalists (WASPs). Our family has been here for over 150 years, even have a century farm. generally, real canadians like us still harbor love and respect for the british empire and it's authority, but we also share a nationalistic pride about our own self-made country.
literally, not being American-- both Canadian conservatives and liberals celebrate this. for normies, natural pride is mainly born out of social politics. Trudeau wasn't kidding when he said Canada was a postnational state. he didn't make it this way, it was just a very astute observation. Canadians since the 60's/70's have been groomed to view leftist social politics as virtue.
Daniel Scott
Its really fucking crazy how far the nation has come in only 150 years.
150? more like past 25. the influx of non-white immigrants into southern ontario is brutal. BC, too. We used to be pretty much 80% WASP, 20% german/slavic/other european immigrants
Ian Bell
its so retarded. Leftist social politics as virtue, that's why CPC and CAQ will win for the foreseeable future.
Logan Taylor
There isn't any Anglo-Canadian pride in public life anymore, its all private or deteriorated to the point where anyone with dignity rightly spurns it.
The most patriotic expression left in Canadian life (Nov 11) is to remember that time where a generation of young men killed their German cousins like good little goyim
Ayden Smith
Where i live there's practically no non-whites (no italians/greeks either, just WASPs)
Gavin Perez
Any chance of a Loyalist sentiment resurrecting? Or has that ship left the harbour long ago?
yeah, MOST of canada is still WASP, it's just the urban areas in ontario which have turned non-white. and southern ontario was basically the US anyways.
Leo Ramirez
There's a huge focus on it still in the boyscout cirriculum, and all those kids love it, FWIW (i volunteer with a troop)
Colton Cox
We tried to meme Prince Harry as a new monarch but he married a negress so no its not happening. I expect cuckdeau the 3rd will divorce us from the theretofore BLACKED, KIKED, and PAJEETED monarchy
Kevin Torres
sounds great t. calgaryfag
Owen Wilson
the education system is killing any remaining british loyalism by painting them as a horde of genocidal subhumans who ruined the eternally peaceful native life.
Joseph Foster
I guess I'm just a stupid goy.
Jacob Jackson
calgary, red deer, etc is filled with third world natives. they all contribute nothing to society.
Dominic Sanchez
I will say, there probably is going to be an overhaul of ontario's curriculum with FORDNATION. BUT he really doesn't seem to care about anglo/canadian pride at all, just (((corporate))) interests.
James Cook
What about cheap hookers, cheap cigs, and casinos??? jks
David Allen
he's a complete retard. he literally sold drugs in high school and his brother was an alcoholic and crackhead. he's just a corporate bitchboy. pretty based of him to roll back the sex ed curriculum tho, props for that i guess
Dominic Hill
At this point I have no pride in Canada. I do however believe that western separation would be incredibly good for it would give my homeland the freedom we deserve and also cut off the equalization gib payments, potentially killing the Canadian welfare state as a result. For the record my family has been in Canada for 240 years.
>Any chance of a Loyalist sentiment resurrecting? Or has that ship left the harbour long ago? I'd have to say the latter. Things like the United Empire Loyalists have gotten stale in modern Canadian eyes and no one really thinks about this anymore. Our last PM, Harper, tried. He was a keen student of Canadian history and as it relates to its old ties with Britain. He patronized a lot of historical initiatives to promote this while he was PM but it's something that didn't take on a national conscious level.
HERE MAY IT WAVE OUR BOAST, OUR PRIDE AND JOINED IN LOVE TOGETHER THE THISTLE, SHAMROCK, ROSE ENTWINED THE MAPLE LEAF FOREVER!!!!
Carter Phillips
He might not have made it this way, but his mothers ex husband certainly played a role in the gradual destruction of Canada. He is just picking up where Trudeau the elder left off.
at least we're ethnically homogenous outside of BC and Ontario. you've got more niggers in your state than we have in our whole country
Carson Green
I think Doug is limited, but he will do well for Ontario economically which is incredibly important for the country as a whole.
To the kraut asking how we feel about the Brits. I can only speak for those who I know, but we tend to view the British, Aussies (nz too by default) as our close cousins. I feel like there's a code between our countries, and Americans as well as the French I suppose. I used to be pretty opposed to the French here, mostly trolling, but I have grown to respect their passion for their French heritage.
kek the conservatives if they lower tax at all (provincially or federally) are going to do some good goy shit like lower capital gains
Not that I'm complaining - took the fire pill a decade ago and retired to a small town on Georgian Bay. I pay 5% tax on withdrawals from my portfolio and never have to work again
Colton Thompson
Jus Soli was a mistake.
Some Window decor from an automobile insurance business in Vancouver's Chinatown. Yes that is a street light paired up with a neon rainbow and pot of gold.
ive definitely always felt the connection between other common-wealthers
Justin Rivera
America, liberalism.. oh idk... If you're young like me, find a job and support yourself through a career in politics. I went to my first school board meeting a few weeks ago. The super intendents, the director, and the board itself are full of liberals and progressives. We need more people trying to get involved, even at a local level
Levi Sanchez
Literally never acknowledged
Ayden Clark
yeah i know. i'd even go back further to Dief and Pearson for initiating this change but I wasn't trying to assign blame in my post. just stating a fact, the state Canada is in began much more longer ago than the 2015 election or even justine's birth.
Luis Brown
The UK is about to become an EU colony as Theresa May announces Brexit "deal" in the next few days that involves actually ceding power to the EU rather than retaking it. How does it feel to be a colony of a colony my canuk friend?
Dylan Bailey
Still waiting for reparations after the Tryon County Comitte of Safety stole my ancestors horses, geese, pigs, cattle and guns.
Jaxson Howard
Basically you should start considering yourself to be a colony of Germany. Those fuckers managed it in the end!!! Took them 100 years but they managed it!! Slow and stead wins the race you see.
Levi Smith
you wont spoil my fun, user
Cameron Powell
we dont bow to britain like we used to. in fact, we dont really bow to anything. canada is so big and the population so spread out we all just kind of try and do our thing.
Asher Murphy
Where would the ideal lines be drawn in a new, separated canada?? JW where ppl stand on this.
last time I went through Northern Ontario it look like the Southern USA, abandoned gas stations and derelict houses rotting away. Thankful it was summer, that shit would be Leonard Cohen-level depressing in the winter. Where are you from? North Bay? Kenora?
Luis White
Canadians don't feel British, they feel Canadian. We like Brits and the Queen but most people don't feel the need to have her on the money anymore. As soon as there's a new monarch, there won't be a monarch on our money, I'd bet.
Spending some time in sudbury rn, but yeah it is bad - a lot of those smaller towns have NO industry, and all the funding seems to go to non-canadians.
When i go hunting i go near kirkland lake, and its desolate up there, so much poverty.
Hudson Russell
Being decent human beings, hockey, O Canada, having arguably the most awesome flag design in the world, fresh air, beautiful snow, beautiful mountains, literally millions of lakes, a gorillion acres of goregous forest you can wander through, clean and relatively crime-free cities (basically crime-free if you subtract Toronto), great actors, directors, and producers (literally 40% of Hollywood), great music, politeness (except online), modesty, a welcoming attitude to strangers (thought Trudeau is pushing the limits on that), and other shit.
>Where would the ideal lines be drawn in a new, separated canada?? I don't think there are definitive ones that could be drawn that would make anyone 100% happy in a realistic scenario. The country is so big that there are pockets of people, natural resources and infrastructure that you want to keep spread across it that ideal lines will start looking like a jigsaw puzzle. I'd rather keep the country whole for better or worse and play for it all even if it doesn't seem possible right now.
Thomas Allen
agreed
Xavier Davis
I quite dislike that nobody here seems to care to protect the English language (one thing I admire about the Québécois, their desire to protect their horrid frog speak). It's incredibly disappointing to see the signs on every store in Markham for example being in some form of Chinese. I don't see how this isn't discouraged, it makes a complete enclave in the area
Joshua Gutierrez
Dief was one of the last good chiefs.
Andrew Scheer could have been followed in Diefenbaker's mighty footsteps, but he sold his soul to Saputo Dairy gangsters instead.
>What are the biggest threats to Canadian / British colonial identity today? being non white next year?
Nolan Diaz
I believe the chart is meant to show Summertime spending projects as related to the government summer jobs program. The one that saw controversy after some churches getting their funding pulled for not adhering to the various "values" that are being promoted by the current regime, while extremist mosques getting cash to provide temporary employment to those in the community.
I think what is just as concerning is the Liberals enthusiasm for taking tax money and giving it to foreign nation states; 50 million for Palestine, more than 300 million for the Rohingya insurgents in Myanmar, an undetermined amount of money going to Aga Khan's cult all come to mind.
The debt to GDP ratio is also completely fucked, Canada in its present guise is doomed unless there is a serious correction to not only our economy but to the political system. That will be impossible as the fifth columnists are already holding ministerial positions in the regime of the current year.
Equalization payments are a different beast, and they must be stopped, even if it culminates in a civil war.
I hate the British government of yesteryear for what they did to the Irish; however, I do reminisce fondly about a time where Canada wasn't a third world mongrel dumping ground.
Ryder Young
>proud Everything within 30 minutes is nice to look at, has farms and markets I can buy directly from, has good service (except Canadian Tire) and I'm comfy just strolling around. While cities are cancerous anyway, social degeneracy has actually spread at a snail's pace here and is still quarantined to urban areas. As long as we stop the current set of pseudo-liberals, things should stay pretty good here and we'll be able to turn problems around.
>threats People rewriting history for the sake of not reminding people how the country developed. If you want to praise newer ideas and condemn old ones, that's fine. But don't tear down the statues, names and literature that came before, you'll just lose your reference points and repeat the mistakes. Make new ones instead.
Landon Roberts
As the Metis resident of Jow Forums, I have to laugh that Canada is following Britain to the demise of her majority population. Better get ready for that #racewar.
Not anything viable at the moment. There is enough discontent that sucessionism might be more popular. Especially when(not if) the Liberals introduce a bill to ban handguns and semi automatic rifles. Gerry Ritz just retired, I could see him making more than a fuss over that occuring, literally /our boomer/ and he has experience creating outrage that gains media traction. Does the government honestly think that any of the First Nations are going to hand in their SKS's? They didn't hand in their AK's.
I can see the pro separation sentiment increasing the more & more that Trudeau engages in outright, open stupidity.
Canada is still British territory until USA annexes it.
Luis Sullivan
Canadian Tire?
Hunter Moore
Why does it exist if the origin parents come from a country where they make all their descendants as citizens already?
Austin Young
Unlikely they'll ever want to unless they turn majority hardline socialist and go militant trying to push it on as many people as possible.
Even once we finish our East-West pipeline, we'll still be selling the majority of our resources to them to maintain first-world capabilities. Without them, we're a second/third world developing nation.
how can you be proud of this country in its current state with Prime Minister Weed Man at the helm? in fact the whole weed legalization was disgusting, I mean not the legality of it, but the celebration people were having, like jesus christ if the highlight of the decade is to cheer that you can smoke weed on the sidewalk I'm sorry but you're a lost fucking cause!
I'd be proud of an oldschool British Empire but modern Canada is trash and this country is ruined beyond repair.
I have no patriotism nor do I care what happens here. As soon as I can afford to move and resettle somewhere else I'm leaving.
>peak british empire, boy how times have changed
>At its height it was the largest empire in history and, for over a century, was the foremost global power. By 1922 the British Empire held sway over about 458 million people, one-quarter of the world's population at the time, and covered more than 33,700,000 km2, almost a quarter of the Earth's total land area.
It exists I think solely from the intent of having as many potential tax payers to collect revenue from as possible. The only way to keep the Canada Pension Plan scheme going is to bring in more people and get them working so they can pay into it.
don't remind me >can't talk shit about islam >anything insulting or racist is considered Hate Speech >can't talk shit about religion (hate speech) >universities are all cucked and full of SJWs/feminists/libtards >less than 50% white in most metro areas >allowing 300,000 non-white refugees in per year, and another 750,000 immigrants on 10-year work visas (who never leave) >government wants our population to go from 36 million to 100 million by 2040 >illegal to use incorrect pronoun when talking to transgender faggot (if I don't call pic related "SHE" i can get fined and/or sued for emotional traumas) >no castle doctrine in Canada, if criminal breaks into your house you must "run and hide in bedroom closet" >if criminal breaks in and injures themselves (cuts on glass, falls down stairs) they can SUE YOU AND WIN (has happened) >Common Law marriage, if you date a girl and share the same address for 1-2 years (depending on province) you're legally married and she can take half your stuff
thats just the tip of the iceberg i have about 100 more of these, all absolutely true, google any of them if you don't believe it.
Quebecois user here. Honestly God Bless you guys for being loyalists, too. No more brother wars. We both have bled for this land. We both have fought. Be they voyaguers or HBC fur traders, the european ancestry of this country is amazing and can't be taken away
Hunter Peterson
>illegal to use incorrect pronoun when talking to transgender faggot (if I don't call pic related "SHE" i can get fined and/or sued for emotional traumas) >if criminal breaks in and injures themselves (cuts on glass, falls down stairs) they can SUE YOU AND WIN (has happened) >Common Law marriage, if you date a girl and share the same address for 1-2 years (depending on province) you're legally married and she can take half your stuff Yikes thats bad
