I once saw a black highschooler break down into tears when he, and his mostly black team lost a basketball finals game with game scouts present, because his only bright future, in his perspective, was over, as he had lost to an almost entirely white team, due to the white teams actual teamwork. Seriously, the white teams main scorer was the shortest dude on the field

Black people talk was originally a dialect of southern American English “slave talk” that was influenced by pidgin English spoken by the first slaves. They moved north to the inner cities in the 60s and kept their accents because they were largely segregated from white people. They’re not intentionally butchering the language, they just grew up in an environment where everyone talks like that.
