Just a thread to appreciate how great the Russian people are.
Their whole history has not been easy at all. They started as a Slavic tribe attempting to emulate the Roman empire, and became a feared and respected monarchy, but many were literal slaves under the feudal system. Things get better as time goes on until WW1 when they got Lenin and Stalin. Communism appealed to the poor masses but they ended up worse than before. The communist regime treated the Russians as less valuable than animals, starving over 20 million to death and sending many more to meet their imperialistic aims. More Russians died in WW2 than all the other belligerents combined. After the war they were still poor and treated like shit, but things got better eventually leading to the collapse of communism. Now they're still relatively authoritarian but still very respectable. The most amazing part is that even after receiving what is quite possibly the worst mistreatment in human history, the Russians don't demand reparations, they don't get angry at their history, and they maintain a relatively happy and carefree attitude about everything. They are grumpy bastards at times but they don't bullshit around and get straight to the point when it comes to discourse. Modern Slavic culture has some degenerate aspects but still maintains respect for heritage and the family.
Not to mention they make amazing music.
