There were many incidents with weapons in public school. Even before the WWII. But people didn't really care about it. Fighting and partakeing in a war was seen as an essential thing to become a man. When somethin like this happened it was not common — sure. But it was not seen as a national tragedy. It wouldn't appear in the biggest newspapers. Maybe because people had more important things to worry about. There was nothing one could do against it anyway, back then.

I couldn't find any accurate racial stats about school shooters in particular, although I would assume a large amount of them are Jamal and Jose popping off rounds on school grounds with no casualties.

I think the root of it all is that not everyone is made for school. It’s like how college is not for everyone. Some kids will always be bullied no matter where they go because of how they are. Some kids will always be difficult jackasses that disrupt the learning process for everyone. Some kids should be banned from normal schools for their own sake, and some should be banned for the sake of others. We need a better homeschool infrastructure

Also the reason that large, indescriminate mass shootings are becoming more common is because fewer and fewer adults carry pistols nowadays. Nearly all murderers still fear the pain of being shot, that's why they usually surrender or commit suicide
