I know a few people who use go but if you stick with what I posted above you should be able to land a job as long as you know basic data structures. CSS HTML and other front end tools as mentioned by the other user are good but you most likely will not be asked about them unless you want to go into strictly front end which I recommend you stay away from

You'll also want to pick up relational table knowledge so Sql, MySql, NoSql, whatever.

Damn, I've gotten quite a mix of opinions on this subject. Ok, here's my situation: I'm 27, I have like $50k in the bank, no wife or kids, rent paid up for 6-8 months but otherwise no real obligation to stay where I am.

I decided a couple of weeks ago that I'd learn to code and just go get some midrange code monkey job in the midwest and get comfy.

So far I've written a basic mobile app and some bots in python and I'm working on a Jow Forums client for iOS since there are no good ones, but I don't know if this is going to work out in terms of career prospects

The other app I've been working on is a simple alarm clock that uses the phone's gyroscope and accelerometer to enable you to tap lightly on your nightstand, at which point it brightens the display and shows the time
