I take lugols 2% and it has helped a lot with mental clarity, depression, physical energy levels. I prefer it on an empty stomach but I guess some people take it with food. You gotta dilute it for sure. I personally don't like to do the salt water flush part to get rid of bromide, but its supposed to be important. As you supplement with iodine the other halogens in your body (Floruide, Bromide) which may have been competing with the iodine get released and they're pretty toxic. It can be kind of harsh on digestion since it is such a strong antimicrobial. if you ever have a bad stomach ache or what you suspect is food poisoning, do like 3-5 drops in a big glass of water. don't take too much iodine or you'll probably feel too much energy, cold all the time, etc. That is hyperthyroid, look up the symptoms so you know if you're getting all of them really bad, you're taking too much iodine.

when I first tried magnesium chloride I was shocked at how fast and well it worked for reducing anxiety/stress as well as muscle tension. Symptoms of low magnesium suck and apparently lots of people have it. Some people spray magnesium oil (its more like salt water) on their skin or you can take it in a liquid like iodine. It seems so strong that taking too much would be bad, and it has a very strong effect. I can't recommend magnesium enough.

Then a few years later I discovered iodine. It isn't exactly the opposite of magnesium, but instead of helping you sleep like magnesium does, it gives the metabolism some serious firepower to work properly. That is how I would describe it.

They're both just salts/minerals so its not like there is one brand or some patent. This shit works and if you don't mix it properly it can probably mess you up. I've heard stories of people putting lugols drops straight in their mouth, that shit can seriously damage some cells. The potassium in it can cause ulcers (if not diluted in water or whatever). Iodine is pretty safe though, great for bone health too.

Don't do that. Diluting in water is super important. You'll probably okay but the potassium in lugols can cause ulcers on mucous membranes. Your tongue is likely stronger I'm talking more about esophagus. Also a couple drops of 5% is a good dose, might be on the higher side. Some people encourage to take it slow because they had headaches and stuff, that is where the salt water drinking comes it handy. I think it is also because the Cl in salt is both important for sustaining life as well as a halogen like Iodine (and Fluoride and Bromide) so you get low in Chloride too, possibly.

Diluting in water will increase your body's ability to absorb it, trying to absorb it all in one spot won't be as effective. Also the ulcer risk is real, you gotta dilute it, even if its a smaller glass, but I recommend big glasses of water.

I would say it is both depending on what you are trying to accomplish. For energy and mood I notice a pretty quick decline if I miss a dose or two. For health problems with more "momentum" like chronic physical problems, autoimmune, that kind of stuff... weeks or months. It is possible I am not getting the full effect because I'm not drinking the salt water.
