China's development stats are misleading since most of their progress is from espionage. They get tons of people working within US corporations and government to give them whatever information they want to help their industries or military.
On their own, the Chinese suck ass at nearly everything and have so much corruption within even their schooling that people get outraged when they crack down on cheating as they see it as handicapping their kids while everyone else is getting away with it.
