If you look at RI, CT and Mass on a county by county and precinct/townshiip basis you'll see that the reason things are fucked is because Mass is extremely gerrymandered so areas which are competitive for Republicans- such as Worcester County, Massachusetts or Southeast Massachusetts- are divided up so that the Republicans can never quite -win- any of those districts because Republican support is conveniently divided up, so districts which should be like 51-49 Rep-Dem are 55-45 Dem-Rep.

Republicans only ran like 4 candidates in Massachusetts because of this bullshit, it's pretty bad especially when you consider all those blue districts in the Midwest and South- it's illegal to redraw those districts so that they're red, because those are special "black and brown" districts for minorities only to be the majority of voters, so red states like Mississippi where 90% of whites vote Republican can't take all the seats because that would legally deny niggers representation- but while dems have AUTISTICALLY SCREECHED that Reps gerrymander the midwest and south they have far more aggressively gerrymandered states like Illinois, California (they pretend they redrew districts to be moderate, but moderate districts only benefit Dems because most moderates are closet liberals) and Maryland to benefit themselves- with pretty much no challenges to those coming from the Republican side.

The thing about the USA is that it's the only Protestant nation in the world founded by Dissenters rather than the official churches. Anglicans, Lutherans, Calvinists, Presbyterians- these groups had nothing to do with colonies like Pennsylvania (founded by Quakers), Georgia (founded by AnaBaptists, later Baptists), most of New England (founded by Puritans.

The religious culture of the United States is completely different from countries like Canada or South Africa because the established churches in those areas tended to be things like "United Church of Canada" (a union of Anglicans and Methodists) or the "Dutch Reformed Church" (Calvinists).

Keep in mind that the Puritans subjected the British isles to a religious dictatorship for a decade under Oliver Cromwell, and the Anabaptists took over a city and declared it the New Kingdom of Jerusalem over in Germany.
