Sunspots have been absent for most of 2018 and Earth’s upper atmosphere is responding, says Phillips, the editor of spaceweather.com.
“The bad news,” according to Phillips “It could happen in a matter of months,” says Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center on the cold snap that may be coming.
“If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold,” says Mlynczak. “We’re not there quite yet,” he said. However, “months” is not all that far away.

well i live in the highlands where its pretty cool but were hitting 27-30'c which is pretty average spring weather, they literally just told us it was going to be the coldest winter since dinosaurs and it was mediocre at best, not even worth reading into this shit.

Last year we had a really bad winter, with some nights hitting -2 and frequent snow storms. This fall has been unusually warm but today we just got hit by a big snowstorm, which is rare before January. The weather lately is whacked.
