It's California's fault.
Their so liberal and dandy the EPA decided against dead brush removal in surrounding wild areas. Oh they used to. Keeps fuel from bursting into flames from an errant spark from a fire 2 miles off.
But the EPA said they didn't want to clear out dead brush and stumps because it would bother the habitats of furry creatures.
So now when the entire hillside erupts in flame at least the habitats aren't bothered.
