One of the hardest things I've had to learn in the business world, especially coming from a smaller city where most people are honest, is that just because someone is filthy rich or high-income, doesn't mean they pay their bills. It's actually kind of common, whether it's paying their mortgage, credit card, or even the Mexican who mowed their lawn. They'll pay when you get a lawyer, and not a minute before.
