HUR DUR RENEWABLE IS BAD CUZ COAL IZ CHEAPER! RENEWABLE IS UNREALISTIC!

>HUR DUR RENEWABLE IS BAD CUZ COAL IZ CHEAPER! RENEWABLE IS UNREALISTIC!

Why are so many fags on this board so desperate to destroy the planet and dick the collective dicks if the Fossil fuel industry?

Attached: e.jpg (1056x1354, 422K)

>haha but you gotta build a thousand wind turbines tho haha

Attached: blue wave.jpg (420x572, 57K)

why are you too stupid to understand tesla towers?

HURRRRR DURRRRRR THE WIND IS ALWAYS BLOWING AND SUN IS ALWAYS SHINING EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD. DUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

to build. not maintain. or keep it runing.. or when outages or natural desasters

What are all the materials required in a wind farm?
And do you know what's involved in the mining and processing of rare earth elements?

How much more expensive is it to keep a windfarm running and how much less power does it produce.

Babies are cheap, maintaining them is expensive and maintaining retarded ones even moreso

IT'S ALSO CHEAPER TO FART INTO A PAPER BAG, BUT NEITHER THAT NOR A WINDFARM WILL PROVIDE THE HIGH LOAD ON DEMAND ELECTRICITY THAT WE NEED, YOU DUMB CUNT.

Literally ignores geography

Because they're convinced that anything their political opponents support must be wrong.

Wind Energy sucks. It recently came out that the United States was getting a quarter of their expected power output. Solar won, and is scalable at the nanometer. Wind is just some fucking turbines.

yeah and an hour of sunlight can provide a year's worth of energy for humanity but good luck getting solar panels to have a conversion rate that isn't shit and good luck putting solar panels everywhere (you can't)

The problem with wind power in the past is that the cost of maintenance is more than the profit they get from selling electricity. Maybe this has changed? But if not, its a bad system that requires the public to subsidize the profit loss, meanwhile the people who finance its construction permanently benefit from this subsidy-welfare

You still need fossil fuels to make the machines that produce renewable energies....

Goal in life is to end up in a property in the countryside self sufficient, stream for hydroelectric, turbine for wind, and solar pannels, enough land for vegetables, chickens, maybe a cow or something.

Sit back and wacth as the world tears itself apart due to the coming appocalypse caused by a CME.

these super greedy fucks who care about nothing but money will not invest in something that would make them more money 'cause they..uhh..EVIL!!

Coal has been at the bottom of the run order for a long ass time. Fracking saw to that shit. Now if they said wind was now cheaper than a combined cycle natural gas site with a kick ass heat rate I'd be interested.

>Pleb bait thread

t. power plant operator for Southern Company

here in germany we get our energy straight from the wall socket, so we don't need any power plants a.k.a. pollution plants

Attached: Oberlehrer_.jpg (306x401, 117K)

>Yay we're completely renewable now!
>We need to upgrade these panels and turbines a build more computers and go to space, can you all dig up more minerals?
>What do you mean renewables can't power mining and production?
Civilisation then collapses. Go nuclear.

This. To bad it’s so hard for you Britt’s To get guns to defend said property.

>haha jobs for US citizens durrrr

i can tell youve never worked a day in your life

That’s the Jews user.

Shills for renewable corporations always underestimate costs and overestimate output. Always.
Coal is a solid source that produces a predictable, consistent output.

The efficiency of commercial solar panels doubled over the last decade. The efficiency is still shit but in a few more decades it'll be better than combustion engines and probably cheaper too.

I imagine that maintaining it will generate a lot of jobs then. Huh, how convenient

after we shut down our nuclear plants we used coal instead and green energy is a total joke
we have many days in the year where we have TO PAY france ect. to take our energy because with storms ect. we produce so much that all our energy network would implode without exporting it and we have one of the highest energy prices in the world
RETARD

Its hard enough just to get land, 55 million people in England.

And we can own shotguns pretty easily but thats about it, anything more and you have to be part of a faggot ''shooting'' club full of weird cunts.

it's cheaper to build a new garden than to keep a farm running.

>What are all the materials required in a wind farm?

Mostly unobtanium and killingallwildlifium.

>many days in the year where we have TO PAY france ect. to take our energy because with storms ect. we produce so much that all our energy network would implode

I never understood that.
Can't wind turbines be shut down, or the angle of their wings changed so they produce less energy?
Can't solar panels simply be switched off?

Coal is a gift to us from God. Windmills take their entire lifespan to pay for themselves. If they make it that long...

Attached: windmill gif.gif (496x269, 918K)

Coal is cheap when your plant is right next to a coal mine.
Coal isn't cheap when (like we do in Amsterdam) have to ship in coal from South America to Europe.

I suspect OP's image refers to a place far away from active coal mines and no access to shipping waters.
Transporting coal by rail is very expensive.

Likewise, wind energy can be very affordable in some areas but very expensive in others.

don't really now but the entire Energiewende is a total joke of incompetence

imagine thinking you’re smart because you made a less robust system and you defend the less robust system with “haha more people have to fix it haha it’s better!”
retard

Nuclear energy is superior to both.
Shut down coal, build nuclear.

Man just wait till you realize solar panels don't last forever and you have to dispose of them.

Subsidies vs regulation

If it costs X amount due to labor costs it's better than costing the same X amount due to other costs.

Or the cost of the real estate...
windfarm footprints are much larger.

I don't see the problem?
We'll just dump them in India like we do with all our outdated electronics.

Attached: children-recycling-e-waste.jpg (610x407, 65K)

Nuclear and hydroelectric are literally the only known alternative to fossil fuels
When you add up the energy (not money) costs of all other alternatives, they dont actually produce any energy
We are literally throwing our remaining fossil fuel away just to virtue signal
Humanity doesnt deserve to survive

Which is why offshore wind farms are superior.
They are also great for marine ecosystems.

>When you add up the energy (not money) costs of all other alternatives, they dont actually produce any energy

[citation needed]

Hydroelectric is so awesome.
Nuclear immediately pays back it's cost in energy by producing an extreme amount of energy rapidly, and hydro electric uses the power of nature and gravity to generate a ton of power, it's essentially a coal plant without the coal, both use turbines that spin to generate electricity, just, coal creates steam to turn the turbines while hydroelectric uses the weight of water.

I believe Quebec has the best hydroelectric setup in the world, and it's amazingly impressive.

Oh okay so you’re paying the same amount of workers the same amount of money to maintain one coal plant or fifteen windmills. Is that your suggestion? That labor costs of one factory at one location are the same for a distributed system?

Is this the communistic system of
>Build garbage shit just to get people to work on it

You know that doesn't work right?

>Paraguay
Oh never mind. You don't

Wind farms cause the ground to heat so it contributes to global warming.

Wind farms kill birds

Congrats, in pursuit of clean energy, you’ve gone against 2 of your own ideals that your kind always bitch about

I mean if source A costs $0.07 per kWh and employs 10 people.
And source B also costs $0.07 per kWh but employs 1000 people.

Then source B is the better one as it drives down unemployment saving the government money.

>tax coal power out of existence
>give billions in subsidies for wind turbines
LOOK ENERGY COMPANIES THIS ONE COSTS LESS FOR YOU BUILD

Is this a troll?

You understand that source 1 costs 100,000 to run and maintain whilst source 2 costs 10 million to run and maintain

You understand money is a finite source right?

Attached: casual.png (759x830, 571K)

Holy shit wow
All those wasted man hours are worth it because then those people get a larger imaginary number in their bank account?
Man hours have actual worth, "money" does not.
You are trading something of value for something of no value.
This is peak jew

Varg is right. Alt right, Jow Forums and most of "muh political solution" right wing are all CANCER.

The problem has and always will be that the Sun and the wind cannot be owned or controlled. Coal is a cash crop, if you obtain the mineral rights and the working interest you obtain the royalties. Simple as that... you go into the energy sector to make money not save it or the fucking Earth you dim faggot.

wind farm maintenance is the reason people aren't building large farms anymore

Latest generation offshore wind costs about the same as coal.

But the question was why jobs matter.
They matter because welfare and unemployment.

It still costs more to build the ten thousand fucking turbines it takes to replace that coal plant.
And of course coal plants work all day, all year long, no matter the weather, whereas wind farms are FUCKING WORTHLESS

Not going to read any more of your posts.

Please respond to first, thanks.

All it takes is some wood and string

Until it's a stinking hot week with little to no wind, oh no we have no electricity. Coal is for base load power and always will be, your (((renewables))) are literally fine weather sailors that can never be relied on for the serious provision of electricity. If you hate coal, use gas or wood waste.

Yeah, yeah. Fuck solar panels and wind turbines. They just don't work here. There is a reason we stick to hydro and nuclear power plants.

This is not true... coal power plants require 100x more maintenance. The difference is that they own a fraction of the coal they are burning and turn a huge profit. Wind farms have 3 to 10 mechanics and no way to own the wind only the revenue from tax payers pays their way. Coal power plants employ hundreds of people and therefore has a bigger purpose to those tax payers who not only pay their taxes for utility but who are also getting paid by it.

Renewable like solar has a bigger ecological footprint with the mines, manpower, trucks/ logistics etc it takes to produce them than say coal or oil, but I for one dont give a fuck, more solar please

>nuclear power plants
Yeah so you can threaten the world with your Jewish nukes.

>Wind farms cause the ground to heat so it contributes to global warming.

What if on hot windless days we run them in reverse?
Giving us a nice cool breeze and therefore fixing global warming?

>Be a demoshit
>Be incompotent at forest management
>Destroy and burn down your environment
>Hurr it's Republicans fault
Kek, I pity retards on the left really

Russia built a reactor that uses nuclear waste of power plants from previous generation. We also spent like 20-30 years stockpiling nuclear waste from countries all over the world. For which service said countries were paying to us and still pay.

Wind farms don't generate any energy or profits at all. Look at every study.

>*government environmental subsidies not included

Congratulations, retard. You fell for the solar meme. I hope you didn't actually buy any of these useless bricks.

Aren't you all the typical fags the eill defend battery powered vehicles because it's the 'scientific' :star_of_david: created trend and when they get their money back from investing in brainwashing you to think batteries are all the way they will pull out studies that say that batteries have negative effects on human bodies, brain etc and that hidrogen would be a better option???
Also about the 5g crap, aka free microwaves on lamp posts microwaving your old mother, old father, your brother, your sister, your gf, your bf, your pets OH WAIT what a convenient thing to have families destroyed, the population doesnt care WOW so convenient, i bet is such a coincidence WOW. Also they are instelling them without consent but with donations under the carpet to the old fags making and interpreting the laws. Amazing.

He hasn't hit that research tier yet.

No one cares where you work at, faggot. Go shove your job up you ass and go fuck your hillbilly boyfriend, cletus.

Solar in India costs like half the cost of coal

Itd be cool if homes didnt require wiring anymore and instead supplied power with an outlet powered by the tesla tower, install them wherever you want them

One day nibba

>Look at every study.

Show me ONE such study please.....
Oh, right, you pulled that out of your ass.

That's thermonuclear (as in fusion) bombs. Nukes are so last century.

shutup colgate

>destroy the planet

Why are envirofags an insane cult that thinks we’re all going to burn in hellfire unless we give them money

>capitalism
>build garbage shit so people will keep paying for it

Yeah instead of polluting the earth just cover the world in wind turbines. Epic win!

Maybe add small battery chargers compatiable with the tesla shit to vehicles so when you come home and park the tesla tower juices up the battery(batteries if youre diesel) with a slow trickle automatically

>tax to hell the coal industry
>HUR DUR RENEWABLE IZ CHEAPER

>cheaper to build means same energy output
lmao

The by far biggest problem in wind and solar power is that they are not constant.

The highest need for electricity is during cold winters when plenty is needed for heating. Yet solar power is at it's weakest then - nights are coldest and days are shorter. Wind power is simply unreliable - while it might give good power when it's windy, that doesn't help when it isn't. No large economy can just expect to shut down factories when it's a cloudy windless winter day. And no, with currently technology there are no feasible ways of storing the power when it's plentiful for later use. All methods are inefficient and expensive.

To put it simply, a large amount of nuclear/coal/gas power is required even if it was 100x more expensive than wind/solar simply because we can't rely on unreliable sources of power as the foundation.

Get back to me when it's a reality not a projection.

This, everyone here signed onto the solar scam simply because it became economically necessary, most people know it's a scam and that cheap coal fired electricity could and should be abundant since we grow shit tonnes of coal right here. Luckily though we also have heaps of sunshine so when we do get a 5kw system we actually make money on their feed in tariff since they taxed the fuck out of electricity.

It's always windy somewhere between Spain and Poland.
For reliable 24/7/365 wind energy we just need to build offshore wind farms from the bay of Biscay, through out the North Sea, to the Baltic sea.

>coal power plants require 100x more maintenance.
The running cost of most coal power plants is around 50$/MWh, let's assume the worst case scenario of 75$/MWh
The annual OM cost of a 2 MW turbine is around 100k, or around 273$ per day, 11.37$ per hour
Now if the turbine produced peak wattage for 365 days, 24/7, also known as 100% capacity factor, it would cost around 8$/MWh

The average capacity factor for most win farms in non-optimal placements is around 13%, best case scenarios are around 30%
let's assume a 25% capacity factor, which puts our cost per MWh at around 23$/MWh at 25% capacity, 43$/MWh at 13%.
So why is nobody actually building these goddamn megafarms with all these goddamn incentives?
Because the 2 MW turbine costs 2.4 million $, which amortized over its expected lifetime (20 years) raises our cost to 25$/Hour, our optimal case scenario to 101$/MWh and our average scenario to 194$/MWh
Incentives can only get you so far

Fuck that, such pollution. At least with solar panels they're on an existing structure, your bird killers are soul destroying monstrosities.

>a solid argument
>QUICK! invent a new problem....ehm...muh birds!

Shut up colgate

I remember on one of the Hawaiian islands, the one with the two big mountains, they have these fucking turbines on the foothills there, it would make you weep if you were a human, such a beautiful place with those fucking things, all idle too.

>wind turbines are so loud they essentially make the land unusable for residential or commercial development
>have to cover several hundred acres of land to generate as much power as a 10 acre coal plant
>you can only build wind farms in certain areas
>wind power is unreliable and you can't store enough power for down times, meaning you'd either have to supplement it with fossil fuel generation or force consumers to use less
>kill thousands of birds a year, fucking up the local ecosystem and causing the insect population to explode
there are reasons to not like wind power
solar isn't great either if you don't want to save us at the expense of China's already fucked environment. i don't like chinks but i don't want them to suffer any more than they already do

Lol wood. I'm still buying the fallen trees from my land, going on ten years now with hardly a heating bill. Eat my dick tech fags

Pumped hydro storage would actually work, but the tech is so pedestrian and doesnt involve exporting dollars to third world shit holes so I doubt it gets traction

Burning*
