What is pols opinion about jehova witnesses? Should you join them or not? I have a kingdom hall right above my street, should I visit them?

Cult. Jesus Christ is the way, truth and life. Join local church.

better off becoming a mormon
Jehova witnesses are christs too.
They deny that Christ rose from the dead and that he is the only begotten son of God. So theyre not Christian...what are they? Well if theyre not with Christ the Bible says theyre against Christ. Who is against Christ? Liars.
People who blow them self up because of their faith are more worrisome in my opinion. They seem like very traditonal people who dont support degeneration.
jehova's witnesses and mormons aren't real christians.
By far the jewiest christian sect if you can even call them christian.
They are incredibly nepotistic and will destroy you if you leave.
This. Mormons want to be like God...who else wants that? Literally the devil.
Aren't 440,000 only going to be allowed in heaven?
Seems like shit odds
In the beginning Christianity was already a Jewish sect, Jesus was a Jew and his follower too.
Flaky faggy hypocritical losers. I worked for a company called Cr Carpet in indiana only non jehovah, They are slick as slime and corrupt. Typical MO was charging custome for a few hundred extra on material and actually buying either just enough to finish or not quite. The girls are encouraged to marry at 15 and the boys too . Do not believe in birthdays Christmas not celebrate any holiday. no tv Not serve in military and spend all of their time in competition over who will be one of the 144 000 that get into heaven, which changes second by second throughout all human lives ever. so a person that died 20000 years ago is vying with you today. A cluster fuck of stupidity arrogance superstition and assholishness Fuck those pervy freaks
Sure, join them, if you want to join a doomday cult that made repeated predictions on exact dates that the supposed end of the world was going to happen, were wrong, changed their story, were wrong again, and have pretty much proven there's no deity backing them.
Me? Any and every, single, last solitary thing and moverment that's arose from the shitty, worthless Millerites and formed into it's own little culty clique has proven to be garbage. I wouldn't touch them with a nine foot pole, everything it's been associated with at any time has been ridiculous, but you do you.
jesus came to punish the jews for their worship practices, if you come to any other understanding after reading the bible I don't know if there is help for you
Nah they changed the rules after they accomplished that number, and you see, when it was reached, Jesus changed rooms in heaven to put on his GodRobe of thunderous applause. Or something similar, it doesn't matter. The world didn't end as claimed and they made up b.s. to cover themselves. Yet another Great Disappointment from the grand scrying prophets.
no
dont all religions predict the end of our world?
They predict it every couple of decades. They stole tgeir followers money to build mansions and buy cars.
crazy. they don't even accept blood transfusion
Yes I have to admit this is the biggest reason not to join them. Imagine your own kids need a blood transfusion and you are not allowed to do so because of your religion.
Even joining a local church is a bad or neutral experience at best 90% of the time. Personal study of the bible and quiet contemplation on God and the Holy Spirit is the best most can get.
They are probably as extreme as muslims, but in the opposite sense. They take pride in being persecuted, humiliated and killed by their government, and they'll refuse to serve in the army or honour the flag. They rise their children to be preachers or missionaries, so they discourage college education. And yes, if you quit they will consider you an apostate. Basically masochistic muslims.
I know they're very dedicated to what they believe - they walk the walk far more than many other sects of christians do. I have worked with a few JWs who were very solid guys (albeit a bit neurotic / sheltered). I've given this thought as well, joining them. They're very anti-political, anti-holiday, anti-"fun". Alas, maybe that's what's needed in this decadent age..
Not on specific dates or years, sir. They stated Quite clearly that if a certain number of their followers, 144,000, witnessed and spread the word of their religion, that the world would end after they had gotten that number of witnesses to tell people about their religion, essentially.
They did so. The world didn't start to end, and Jesus didn't return to rule over it. They changed the story to what they "really" meant.
The same way the Millerites they'd arose from, in great part, early in that movement, had changed their own story of how the world was supposed to end specifically in the year of 1843 and again after it didn't in 1844.
What I'm trying to say is, these are cults that use conditions and doomsaying they make up completely, to motivate people to spread the religion. Yes religions say the world will end. But cults, say it's going to end next year if you don't less all the young daughters go suck the priest's dick, or at least give him whore money, while you go out to convince more followers to join the cult.
>no more xmas
>no more birthdays
>die because you can't accept blood
>give money to old man who will inherit heaven but you wont because there's only room for like 250,000 or some bullshit
The Jehovas witnesses were founded by a guy who produced pamphlets for the Christian church (his company was the watchtower tract society). I don't know the history 100 percent, but from what I understand they don't have a second Bible, like Mormons. Instead, their faith is based entirely off the the founder's interpretation of the Bible. It's sorta like catholicism, except instead of a pope, you have some dead tract maker who read the Bible at work.
The scary(er) part is that the church is insanely restrictive. You're not allowed to celebrate holidays or special occasions at all. I worked with a JW and he made our boss leave the door open on work holidays so that he could come in. The JW church says it's because God is the only thing worth celebrating, but I believe it's just to control you. They get antsy if you spend time with non-JWs and they don't like it when you help out with non-JW charities. You're also forbidden from drinking and I think from certain foods, but I'm not sure.
They canvas neighborhoods worse than Mormons and act super friendly, and I'm not saying they aren't friendly, but their whole "religion" sets off almost as many red flags as scientology. You also have to donate a significant portion of your money to them too. In a Christian church, the biblical standard is 10 percent of your earnings go to the church, but most places understand if you can't afford that or if you want to donate it to some other religious organization. JWs will ask for much more of your money and will also ask for your time and resources. And they won't ask nicely, it's a condition of your salvation that you contribute.
In short, find a different Christian church of literally any denomination other than Mormonism or Universalism. I guarantee you, even if you go and decide Jehovas Witnesses arent for you, they will still hound you. As others have said, behind the smiles it's definitely a cult.
No blood transfusions, no holidays celebrated or even be involved in any way, this includes decorating, except wedding anniversaries. Cannot vote in any election because they have to remain neutral, but love to benefit from it. Cut each other off if you leave the religion. Their "church service" is pretty much all about learning how to endlessly trick people into joining the religion. The only legitimate way out of a marriage in that religion is "extreme abuse."
The whole thing is fucked
I don't really give a shit about them one way or another.
But I really DO wish that they would quit coming to my front door every damn week to shill their magic... along with the rest of the annoying magic missionaries that are Evengelicals, Mormons, etc., etc..
Nigga you're in for the ride of your lifetime if you join them. But hey, at least they're not the Opus Day.
