They have an area called "the bullpen" at my job, a big room with long elementary school style cafeteria tables. Everyone who actually builds the products the company shoved here, elbow to elbow. You spend the day sitting like you do when you eat on an airplane, elbows pressed against your torso.

But then all the support people, administrative assistants, HR, VP's, social media girls, branding, etc they put in offices that surround the bullpen.

The spot I sit... they accidentally bought 1 more cafeteria table than they could stuff into the bullpen, so they stored it in the hallway for awhile near the toilets. When the bullpen got full, they repurposed that table in storage, now I sit in a fucking hallway by the toilet with 15 others with people walking back and forth behind me to shit all day.

I have two screens, you have the code on one side, and the application running on the other screen, so you don't have to switch between tabs when you want to try out your changes. It's also useful when you have really complicated requirements in a ticket, you can leave it open on one screen to reference while you code to it on another. Or, Visual Studio open on one side for your middleware code, and Management Studio open on the other for your database scripts. And 500 other uses.
