I've legit thought about this. But i think it's more likely that this is a game/simulation. The 'real world' outside of this game/simulation would obviously be boring af. You'd never make a game more boring than real life after all. So like all games you need a powerful enemy to over come and pretty bad odds against your success for it to be fun.
