If you're truly interested in finding Jesus you should read all the gospels. I'd encourage you also to read Romans chapter 3 for what I believe to be the best doctrine on salvation by faith. Audiobooks exist, and if you do choose to read a bible don't go to NIV or ESV or anything but the King James bible. The language is archaic but it's the most accurate translation given to us. Above all, pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you, and to give you the guidance you are looking for in the bible, which is His word. I would also encourage church so you have a community of Christians who can help you take you along the first steps of your journey also. God bless you.

Read the book of John, King James Version, American Edition

Any other version you use should have 1 John 5:7 just like in the KJV and KJVA. Any alteration or useage of a word is a signal that you're reading a bad translation of the Bible.

Here's an example of a good one:
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. - 1 John 5:7 (KJVA)

Most versions may note that 5:7 was added later. Either way, read multiple versions of the Bible and notice the different. Super important for that. The only three Bibles I trust are King James, King James American Edition and the Geneva Bible. There are other good ones I just don't know of them.

Get a concordance if you want understanding of the originally words and what not.

Say this prayer to accept the Lord into your heart (and mean it):

We know the world is round, we have satellite images. We can't see all kingdoms from a mountain at that age, including but not limited to the Himyarite Kingdom in today's Yemen, the Dacian Kingdom in today's Romania, or the Han Dynasty im western China, or Maya Kings (if there were any).

So either the world is flat and Jesus could see through clouds. Or the world is round and Jesus could see through hard rock - then why a mountain? Or the story is fabricated by people or supposed to be a methaphor or parabole - then what else is and what is none? Or our knowledge of kingdoms and what consisutes a kingdom is wrong, including our encyclopedias. Then we need to rewrite our encyclopedias. Or knowledge is flawed in general , then relying on the bible as our guide to living is wrong aswell.

Get a bible that's a literal translation...not one based on the concept of dynamic equivalency...read the book of John...believe what it says...repent of your sins....pray to God to bring you either to a good bible believing church or other strong believers in to your life...this method has never failed a contrite heart

Unironically start reading the Bible again. Start with Luke, then Acts. Like I mentioned above, he never left you user, he's always been there waiting for you to reach back out to him. Well, you do need Jesus. If you are really at rock bottom you are actually lucky, because you don’t have any attachment to the world. It’s harder for people who have money, families etc. When things are well, it is hard to accept Jesus, because you don’t feel you need him.

So. What to do? I think the first step is just accept that you need help reorienting yourself. It doesn’t really matter what church you go to as long as it is completely cucked. Go to a church and tell the priest and pastor that you need help reconnecting to Christ. You have to start somewhere and that’s as good as anything.

Pray for guidance, and be open to the guidance when it comes. And get off pol, most of us are damned. I know I probably am, but you can probably still be helped.
