MacArthur had a few screws too loose when he provoked China into invading Korea despite being warned from the CIA that advancing to the Yalu River was a bad idea in late 1950.
He snatched defeat from the jaws of victory after Incheon which would've cut off and destroyed the entire North Korean army had he not decided to go for a useless political victory like pushing for Seoul instead of cutting off the KPA around Pusan.

True, appeasement and allying with Japan would've never worked. They were bitter that we "stabbed them in the back" during the 1905/1918 peace concessions so war was inevitable with the western colonial powers in Asia.

I would never want to be a citizen of PROC, but in these times of Western Liberal mania that is basically rotting the West from the inside out, you have to start thinking about their extreme surviellance-authoritarianism and wonder if it's not without benefits. Maybe their exceptional dislike of anti-national sentiment is a boon, for the average Nationalist chinese citizen can grow a business knowing that his country desires his business' success with a burning passion. In Canada, 1/2 of Canadians think you're a pig for being Ethno-nationalist, capitalist, or aggressively expansionary. So I don't know what to say, China has made many correct decisions. Also one should consider their environmental & infrastructure efforts seriously.
