The issue you're not seeing, and that other people are starting too, is that this control and facade of it is crashing down very fast. 2016 woke up the American right to the complacency of the party they thought represented them. Which is why organizations like CNN, MSNBC, the the tech giants are losing their shit. Dissenting opinions are being heard and there is nothing they can do to control it. The left may have had a successful revolution, but they became complacent. Which is how we got Trump, a solid majority in the Senate, and now judicial appointment after judicial appointment. The last category should scare the shit out of any leftist because the Federalist Society has been out for blood for a decade now and they have it.

I understand what you're saying but this is analogous to being hopeful because most of the rural families disagreed with the overthrow of the czar 100 years ago. Eventually lenin had to make compromise where rural communities could own some land and have markets for many goods and it wasn't until Stalin that they really used force to integrate them.
I'm not very hopeful after two years that there is any evidence that conservatives have gained more control over these systems after taking government, and I think a lot of people are realizing that demographics are changing much more rapidly than we can use the government to fix them.

They have had astroturfed marches about every six months trying to kickstart a revolution. The problem is, you can't start a revolution with glossy posters and references to Harry Potter.
They've been told that Ghandi and MLKang are the greatest revolutionaries ever, and that gives them a free pass to sit in their ass and perform "peaceful protests". That's not going to work.

It'd take both coordination, actual sacrifice, and a major issue to rally around.

If there is a massive chimpout, it could be a smaller issue, but it would take being able to convince a rioting mob of (((the underprivileged))) to riot towards and into significant government buildings; rather than every riot we see now where its just packs of looting dindus and some fires. It'd take 19th century scale riots to start something larger.

The other way is a major happening, a massive victory for trump, another SCOTUS appointment or winning re-election. Something that really drives a nail in their meme resistance coffin.
They could then, with some 100 people, pull a bundy upping the scale a bit.
Long term armed occupation of 3-4 high profile locations starting on the same day, with coordinated press releases (msm jumping to collaborate as its huge ratings and fuck drumpf)

By this point Russia and china would be going hard in the paint to exacerbate the problems.

Attacks would scale up until a national guard was called. National guards would end up getting called for opposing peacekeeping missions.

By this time, the occupations will have been starved or forced out, but its too late. The kids who started it are martyrs - either dead, or famously imprisoned with the jewiest of lawyers harping on it 24/7.

The national guards would bump into eachother within weeks while trying to pacify opposing militia groups.

Then we'd have service men shooting eachother; the nation and army splitting over who to blame for the whole thing, new political leaders by now in the spot light calling for removing the trump administration, or seceding.

And before anyone really realizes how quick its escalating, the history books will be writing that by then we were already 6 months into the war.

The right wants relatively minor changes and they generally come away from political fights satisfactorily for the vast majority of right wing voters.

The left agrees with their radical elements. Communists and anarchokids are a minority, but most of the party sympathizes with leftist European political systems which are so different as to mostly align with communists anyway.

The radicals on the rights are barely tolerated, often embarrassing and swept under the rug. The radicals on the right, if they organized a major happening, wouldn't gain anyone's sympathy, and never have a chance to expand,into a larger movement.

We can watch this happen live, now. Lone nutters go out and commit violence for some twisted right wing ideal, and everyone condemns them.

Groups of a dozen leftists become violent and they're treated as understandably upset protestors. Even if more Bernie bros actually killed a congressman next time, it'd be chalked up as a rallying cry or victory for the resistance.

There would be no war, only slaughter. This is why there would be a resurgent conservative and/or libertarian consensus after the next economic crisis -- those lucky enough to survive will not trust the government.

The next civil war is between those that possess physical capital (guns, ammo, land, food, bullion, tools, trees, fire) and those who do not (the cities).

Cities are reliant on the grid, agriculture, and transportation. Compounding this, consider how multicultural the largest cities throughout the west are. There will be a proliferation of conflict throughout the urban areas as peoples, ethnic groups, and religious communities struggle for resources. Three months into a conflict, much of the cities would perish.

This is why the powers at be are terrified of an economic collapse. If it escalates to a currency crisis as a result of seigniorage to pay for ever-expanding government fiscal obligations (war for oil, healthcare, govt pensions so on and so forth), then cities such as Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles become ground zero for anecdotes that will resound throughout the ages.

Consider this. If people lose trust in the fiat currency, how many first responders, police, and military go AWOL? How many decide to stay how to protect their wives and children? We are then immediately confronted with the situation of complete and abrupt anarchy.

I'm sure many of your are familiar with the work of Ted Kaczynski. What he couldn't have foreseen is that no one needs to proactively struggle against the grid. The proliferation of the technological 'progress' eventually speeds up exponentially. The result is that this acceleration is inorganic and introduces too many potential destabilizing variables. The hegemony of technology cannot last long enough before it self-immolates. There are now too many things that can go wrong. The interrelationship and interconnections between everything ultimately means that a failure in any particular aspect of the system leads to a series of cascading regressions.

I'm sure many of you are convinced that there will be an inevitable and ubiquitous race war or ideological war. What I feel is more probable, however, is a complete war of all against all. When it all breaks down, there will only be you, what you own, and those close to you for whom you would kill and/or die. The technological, social, and financial 'innovations' of the last 60 years has happened too quickly for us primates. In our arrogance, we have set ourselves up for failure.

We flew a little too close to the sun. We ate from the tree of knowledge. We built our tower a little too close to heaven. All but a few of us are in the process of building an arc.

When shit hits the fan, I am not going to see a white or a black or a conservative, or a socialist. I am only going to see competition for my food and a potential threat for my safety.

Stop talking about the civil war, and start discussing the financial innovations (hyperinflation), pollution (plastics), multiculturalism (balkanization), technological 'progress' (degeneracy) and an uncritical and unthinking reliance on the grid and government.
