Race mixing is hated and shunned outside of literal demonic factions, humanity is in a constant struggle against degeneracy with women more or less entirely relegated to their proper roles and/or subsumed within an ultra strict meritocracy. Beyond that, peter f. hamilton the commonwealth saga is fairly decent. Touch of degeneracy, but by modern standards barely any, and the writing is good. Long books, the audiobooks are easy to find as torrents and they'll last ages (20+ hours per book).

He goes under and due to the shared electric field two of the moons have with the planet he gets teleported into the past to Venus when the sun was cooler. Since the sun was cooler my idea is there would be a civilization there.
I'm think along the lines of a space faring civilization based off of Mayans/Aztecs and the main character has to try to get home as the sun is heating up and threatening to wipe out the civilization
