Why are unions bad?

Explain it to me like I'm 10.

Give me a definition of what a union is and explain why it is bad in practice.

I'm only 18, and have no work experience. All those in my family have worked in the medical field, so I have no idea how a coal miner or factory worker may feel concerning the issue.

I believe in captialist systems and hate socialism very much. But I want a genunine response as to why the right opposes unions. I've been researching this a little bit today but my head is still not clear on the issue at all.

I shouldn't be asking Jow Forums legitmate political questions, but maybe only half the posts will be "DA JOOS DID IT".

Unions act as a monopoly on labor, and cause inefficiencies in the labor market.

An easier way of saying this is to say that labor unions take away the ability of companies to pick the best person for the job.

If we want to help workers it is better to just tax all the businesses equally. In that case each business can hire good workers and fire bad ones, and the workers still get benefits from taxation.

they are only bad when regulated by laws and imposed on workers trough coercion, if it's a free willing association its based and redpilled

theyre not, theyre great. theyre the only reason why workers can live like human beings in an industrialized society.

cuck

Hitler was against the labor unions faggot

hitler was a cuck and destroyed europe chasing ghosts
you're a cuck for thinking that capitulating to corporations to dissolve unions to "help workers"

Unions are all mafia controlled.

They take money from my check every week. And still ensure I make less than a nonunion shop. Kikes

>on paper
Good idea, band workers together to ensure fair pay and safe working conditions
>in practice
unreasonable, unsustainable demands and you're fucked if you don't join them, fucked if you do

Nobody seems to remember how unions grind things to a halt for everyone else when they didn't get their way. I remember when the local garbage union went on strike for a month and then wondered why everyone was mad at them.

Hitler could have had the jews in his pocket if he had played his cards better. The infrastructure and investment cost for the holocaust saved + potential jew fighters would have allowed him to crush Russia and conquer Europe. However, he was retarded.

Their time is over in the age of endless regulation and litigation. They achieved what they were originally created for and should have been done away with long ago.

>Hitler was a cuck
>Labor unions are good
Yikes

>what is corruption

Unions are only bad once they stop caring about their own workers and focus on fucking everyone over by gaining subsidiaries from the goverment. Which happens all too often.

I worked at a unionized company once. It went something like this:
>The amount you got paid depended on how long you had been working there.
>People who had been there forever got paid a lot and stood around running their mouths all day.
>People who worked hard just got more work dumped on them and rarely stuck around long.
>The union made it basically impossible to fire someone no matter how irresponsible and worthless they were.
>Most of the people in management were extremely corrupt and shitty.
And this was in a right-to-work state so the union couldn't force you to join.

unions are not good they hold people back froma a better paying more efficient job, its the government subsidizing an industry pretty much

the weak should die much sooner than the strong.

"what's 2+2 and don't say 4, give a real answer!"

They were good back when they were for closed boarders and workers right. Now they only exist to fund the democratic party and support open boarders.

As a former GM uaw member who's plant is now a grass field I can honestly say they are better for the American worker than the company tends to be.

They used to fund the Democrats and that's what got us the good stuff like 49hour work weeks and time and a half for overtime.

They eventually become corrupt as well and sold out to the corp's to beg for scraps. After NAFTA and the opening of China imports without tarrifs.

Trump's at least can identify the root cause of the fall of the American middle class. When America had strong tarrifs a single paycheck would raise a family.

Unions are inherently good for the workers. The members just need to keep the equal outcome crowd at bay.

Wrong. Tariffs made US companies lazy and uncompetitive until they started to get driven out of the market by foreign car companies that made better and cheaper cars. Your job would have been replaced by robots anyway, and that's just how economics works.

Companies can also monopolize / oligopolize the labor market. This is very much the case in third world shitholes, but also happens in the developed world as in the case with Amazon and Walmart.

It's a battle between capital and labor, and just like in healthy democracies, where conservatives and liberals pit their ideas against each other and alternate themselves in power, healthy economies should see a similar struggle between companies and unions.

A healthy economy is so much more than just the bottom line of companies btw. Motivated workers makes for a more efficient, innovative and entrepeneurial work force. Well paid workers makes for a stronger domestic market and most importantly larger families, which keep the growth engine going. Can't go overboard though, and capitalists also need good rewards. It's all about balance.
