You must not be high-functioning to have been diagnosed before university. I didn't get my diagnosis until I was 21, which is common (~50% of the time) for high-functioning autists because being in the loose-structure environment of university as compared to the highly-structured 40 hour/5 days a week high school brings out problems unique to autists.

Fuck dude, I can relate to this. High school I got all A's starting from 10th grade to graduation. Once I got to college, I broke down from all the stress and the lack of a nicely-defined schedule. Got a couple midterms over the next two days that I didn't study for. Wish me luck.

I was evaluated at 2 or 3 years old. The specialists decided they would rather not diagnose me with autism since they saw some signs but ultimately were unsure because of above-average cognitive abilities. Which is the same story through my elementary school years even though it was a 95%+ White, relatively small school. You should count your blessings that you were aware of *why* you were different when going through middle and high school, it was hell for me.

I always did well on tests whether or not I studied, you should be fine user. I eventually dropped out and now I'm going to a trade school, I don't want to discourage you though some can pull it off.

I would recommend you get evaluated. My university didn't give me shit for accommodations but you might as well try.

I guess I can't relate. I cried tears of relief when I found out because I finally had my answer for why things were going to shit academically and in my personal life, and why I was unable to make friends and relate to others when in high school. It allowed me to finally make sense of my life and why I am the way I am.
