Based on how you talk about the project, I would say you are not a fan of star citizen. It is definitely worth supporting this project. currently more and more is coming together, the online universe offers patch for patch more content, performance, mechanics, places, ships and much more. I do not understand people's skepticism, gta5 has taken more than 5 years of development and devoured more than double the current budget of star citizens. despite this, gta is not a perfect game. no company is perfect and RSI isnt too. but what they created there is a damn milestone in the game industry. in the latest 2 years we see the single player and in no later than 4 the universe, finished. you will see

The problem is that they keep trying to add new things before they even get started on older things. The development model is not sustainable.

Sure they sell many ships to finance the further developement. But I guess you havent played it yet one time (currently build is 3.3). You can do more and more, the whole mechanics are coming together. You CAN use the new ships for mechanics like trading, mining. Also you can earn ingame credits and buy now ships ingame too. So just inform about the current opportunities, maybe you will change your mind

I made enough in whatevercoin to buy a nice pc, that I used for mining, then once it had paid for itself twice, I bought a VR rig and that's what I use it for now. Free VR. Fuck yeah.

Last I checked they were making it so that you could buy ships before they even had the thing programmed in.
I put money into the game so long ago and now don't even have much time for them - let alone ones that aren't done yet.
By the time it is complete, I will probably be done with games entirely.
