You won't get more money than you put in. Remember, property value is key in reselling, and niggerhoods have the lowest property value. You could look into buying a mobile home. Lot rent is usually cheaper than apartment rent. At that point, instead of saving to buy a better house, you could, little by little acquire land, and build a house as you can. I'd hate to see you waste money on moving to the ghetto.

^This i know several people who are 50 to 60 who own 10 plus houses or small apartment units and retail units. They all did it on blue color wages but it helped they were all in trades ware they could buy crap houses and do the work themselves and either sell it in three years or keep as a rental.
