I run the refugee resettlement program at one of the largest evangelical Christian organizations in the country. Many in my org are Trump supporters, but we drummed out all staff who put his opinions above our mission which is serving the Lord Jesus Christ. So as of this past February, the refugee resettlement division has had full access to resources and funds to coordinate massive refugee resettlement initiatives in the southwest, the Great Plains states, and Texas. Most refugees for whom we find shelters and homes are Syrians and Iraqis, though recently we have had Venezuelans, Hondurans and Salvadorans fleeing civil disturbances and massive government oppression.
We feel we are doing God's work by defying Trump, whom many of us (even those of us like myself who used to campaign for him) believe is the closest this nation has had to an antichrist. The few of us, including myself, who previously believed President Barack Obama was the antichrist, have realized we were misguided, and many of us now think that Obama was the closest we have had to an apostle, the way he cared about healing the sick, helping the poor, and comforting groups who have been outcast and marginalized historically.
We strongly believe that no president can tell us what we can't do. We are of the belief that God's will is sovereign, and that the Lord Jesus Christ is embodied in dignity and humanity within every man, woman, and child seeking refuge at our door.
We reject Trump. We reject the antichrist. Jesus is the light and the way.
I'm new to the faith but I'd never be apart of some organization like this. My city has been plagued by the Somalis that the Lutherans brought over starting 25 years ago, I shouldn't say that Syrians and Iraqis are as fucked up as Somalis, but if you bring any large group of people in like this it will have a negative effect on the culture in those societies because they won't become white washed like I was. Did I mention that I'm the son of a Palestinian immigrant? We should work with the Iraqi government and Assad in Syria to fix the mess by eliminating terrorists and stopping all sanctions in the middle east for Israels benefit so that these countries can fix themselves. They can help themselves just fine in there own countries if the globalists stop their meddling in the region.
