On the other hand, Saudi Arabia would gladly withdraw from Yemen if the Iranians would agree to leave. They would immediately provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has agreed to spend billions of dollars in leading the fight against Radical Islamic Terrorism.
After my heavily negotiated trip to Saudi Arabia last year, the Kingdom agreed to spend and invest $45c) billion in the United States. This is a record amount of money. It will create hundreds of thousands of jobs, tremendous economic development, and much additional wealth for the United States. Of the $45 billion will be spent on the purchase of military equipment from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and many other great U.S. defense contractors. If we foolishly cancel these contracts, Russia and China would be the enormous beneficiaries - and very happy to acquire all of this newfound business. It would be a wonderful gift to them directly from the United States!

The crime against Jamal Khashoggi was a terrible one, and one that our country does not condone. Indeed, we have taken strong action against those already said to have participated in the murder. The map in the top left at this image is the result of the 1860 election, won by Lincoln. Notice how the lines are perfectly drawn:

Even then the total electoral college votes of all these forces combined was 123, vs. the 180 Lincoln got out of the Northern and Pacific states alone.
The situation was very clear: the south had absolute no representation at the federal executive and Lincoln was, a lot like Obama, a radical, a president that would enact measures without the least regard for the desires of half the country constituency including but not exclusively, pushing for the end of slavery. Lincoln also ended up making give supreme court appointments during his presidency, something that, along with having enough northern electoral college votes to stay in power, would guarantee the south would never have representation in the federal executive and judiciary for a generation at least.
The war was not about slavery, it was about the right of self determination for the states and for the citizens of said states when they realized the federal government was moving in a direction they did not agree and that they had no say anymore at all. The rest of the pic is an interesting parallel with the present day situation: The bottom left map is the exact same map Trump won with only three changes: red NM, blue AZ and TX.
