For those who don't suffer it basically poor people who can't afford cars stealing trolleys to push their shopping home then just dump the trolley somewhere after.

You chaps dont have the carts with locking wheels? In the ghetto areas of the US, a wheel will lock if it gets too far from the store.

There are two methods that shops use to stop this. First is the simple pound coin unlock mechanism, so it costs people a pound coin to get a trolley - a lot of poor people want their pound coins.
Second is a magnetic lock they have at my local big tesco, the trolley wheels lock outside a certain area

Its the same in the US, almost all stores use the magnetic locks, only european stores use the ones that cost money, like aldi(they wont last long in my area)
Get rid of stores and just have groceries delivered
