Raiders was the official name given after the first few years of just being "MARSOC".
Alot of guys from back in 2010 time frame still use the term MARSOC instead of Raiders because thats what they were called when we were still in.
I prefer Raiders myself, but MARSOC is just the lingo thats emblazened into my brain.

It's an "Air Assault" division, meaning that's trained in the use of helicopters for leap in and out of battle instead of jumping from planes, it's still quite a tough training program.
t. wanted to do Air Assault School when I was in the Army
USASOC (which Delta Force is a part of) is Airborne certified, meaning that all members of the units under its command have to attend Airborne School merely to be considered for acceptance into the training program (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, Q Course, etc.)
