Because Christian Zionists believe in "separate covenants" - ie, God made a separate deal with "the Jews," meaning those from the bloodline of the Jews. If you were born a Jew, then that's your covenant. But if not, you'd have to reject the Christian covenant to BECOME "Jewish," which would not be acceptable.
