So I was raised by some pretty leftist parents, and want to start going to church. i dont believe much in the mythology but I do believe the teachings are important to society and want to be part of a community for once. How do you go about finding a church? What denominations are batshit? which are cucked?
How do i start going to church?

Start by reading the Bible. New testament specifically. OT is good as history but not really applicable anymore. The rest comes with time.
Continuing Anglican.
Church is a good start to find humility which brings confidence through competence.
Basically at some point you will progress to where you find yourself comfortable in your spirituality. You can either continue further in pursuit of truth which i don't recommend or just enjoy a submissive house wife and kids, which I would recommend.

Unless you have a family you're going to church with don't bother. If you're going solo, you'll be "that weird guy"
>want to be part of a community for once
you have to have a gf or kids then start going to church with them.
Make sure you go Orthodox. Catholicism is cucked and satanic.
Get an Orthodox Study Bible and start here:

Catholics are actually generous lovely people.
I have relatives who are Catholic and they (not the clergy) actually believe in good things.
Personally I think the theology is pagan nonsense but I'm still searching for a religion that matches my personal beliefs.
Universalist churches are pretty based, I've been to those.
Stay away from Mormons. They're all insane.
>OT
>not applicable
Fear of God is a virtue, user.

Best bible because of all the extra features
I'm opposite you OP. I started out a staunch Catholic and am now agnostic. I kept my conservative values and value the role of religion played in spreading those values but we can live on without them. The good parts about religion you can find studying about it scholarly rather than actually participating in it. Save yourself the time going to church and just go to classes or read books about religion instead. Heck, very little of theology or ethics is actually thought in service. Service is about worship.
i dont lack confidence and don't have a problem meeting women. But theres no question the caliber of women in churches are probably much better than whats "out there"
>dont go to church without a family
>go to church to find a wife
what about baptists/methodist? i just moved to the south, not a whole lot of catholics or orthodox
Also OP, watch if you want to believe:
The OT is the history that leads from beginning to Christ, the laws given were for the Hebrews. Not for the church.
Less cucked than Catholic, but Orthodox is the oldest and real church.
I don't know no way where you live OP, but if I were you I'd scout out the various churches around you. Talk to the pastor--they are usually there pretty much every day. Explain to him your situation and background and he will help you. Pray to God and read His Word, the Holy Bible. I recommend the Book of John to start.
>how do I start getting diddled by priests
I'd honestly probably start going to church if there wasn't such a real threat of getting molested by a "reverend". is this why americans go to church?
I want to go to church for the community and to be around others who have conservative values. I just moved to a city, no family here (even though i wasnt so close to them to begin with) and no friends. I'm not socially awkward but I think I can start a good life here
in terms of closest to Jesus.
catholicism is satanic. constantine never accepted christ
Maybe in Canada, because in Mexico it's perfectly normal to go alone to a Catholic church.
Reverends only diddle their Bible study group kids, the ones they see often and the ones who sing at the choir.
>How do i start going to church?
Why would you? Did you suddenly decide to become a race-traitor? That is not a very good thing to be, user.
>I do believe the teachings are important to society
Which one? Which of Rabbi Yeshua's teachings do you think is good? That poverty and weakness are virtues? That life is meaningless? Honest question.
do they keep regular hours? I would feel weird walking in on a sunday service
> this
I go to church alone a lot, specially if I plan on getting the sacrament of confession
The Catholic Church is the original church with lineage to the apostles. The Orthodox broke off and don't believe in papal authority, which is why they don't have a central authority. My wife is E. European , Orthodox, and they're hardly saints as portrayed on Jow Forums.
Protestants are jews who eat pork. Nuff said. Every 30 minute sermon will praise (((them))) and hate on Catholics.
Catholics have an 11 minute homily(sermon) and I've never heard them mention Protestants or Jews. Pre Vatican 2 it was red-pilled, but its been (((infiltrated)))
I have this desire to go to church but around here, you can be an atheist and still be a United Church minister, there's practically no point
The Catholic Church is nice. They already belong to a huge institution so they don't have to put up cheap gimmicks to attract believers, they are much closer to ancient tradition than most protestants and they run a lot of charities. Just make sure you don't go to a bat fuck insane congregation like the Opus Dei. My friend likes to go to a Franciscan temple, and we also used to be on a Jesuit school.
As for whether you should go, it also depends on the congregation. Jesuits don't go often because they believe that good actions and charity are more productive than prayer. Opus Dei people are anal as fuck about going to mass. Franciscans are somewhere in between, they view temple service as important but it's OK if you don't go.
Protestants will recruit the shit out of you, usually. Like, I got promo material like cups and stuff from one Baptist church. Catholic you can attend(don't take communion) and go to RCIA and you'll feel like part of the congregation.
The really extreme "new church" protestants will be like night clubs except with coffee bars and the women dress in club wear.
>They already belong to a huge institution so they don't have to put up cheap gimmicks to attract believers

I went to an Emergent Church service and they had a trapeze act, moving sets, and ofc a rock n roll band
The so called Hebrews don’t want to follow them either. That means they must be good.

Explore many denominations before you settle, but I think you owe it to yourself to see why so many people go Latin Catholic.
My recommendation is to go to a few of these and see if you enjoy it.
In addition to the Bible, I recommend reading about the Nicaean and Chalcedonian Councils -- they offer an insight into the foundation of the faith across most traditional Protestant branches.
Thomas Aquinas was based and redpilled.
Even if you don't choose to go Catholic (a decision I fully understand in 2018), I hope you find a denomination that truly resonates with you.

so any advice on the actual logistics? do I just knock on the door randomly? do I have to attend each churches service on sunday wait till its over and try to catch the priest/pastor when hes not busy?
I'm a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Many of our churches have an introduction course for adults looking into Christianity, that way you don't feel like an idiot walking into church. If you're worried that Pope Francis is too cucked, or that a priest is going to rape your kids, don't worry! There are many more leaders in the church than just the Bishop of Rome. en.wikipedia.org
Start listening to Christian songs.

my RCIA leader was old, and told me in the 60s the Priests would talk about how everything wrong in the world was due to those 'damn, dirty Jews'. He thought the modern church was great. Nice guy, but didn't get it.
Watch the film "passion of the christ"
>Throughout its history, Opus Dei has been criticized from many quarters, prompting journalists to describe Opus Dei as "the most controversial force in the Catholic Church" and founder Saint JosemarĂa Escrivá as a "polarizing" figure.[8][113][114] Criticism of Opus Dei has centered on allegations of secretiveness,[14] controversial and aggressive recruiting methods, strict rules governing members, elitism and misogyny, and support of or participation in authoritarian or right-wing governments, especially the Francoist Government of Spain until 1978.[93] The mortification of the flesh practiced by some of its members is also criticized. Opus Dei has also been criticized for allegedly seeking independence and more influence within the Catholic Church
>Critics assert that Escrivá and the organization supported radical right-wing governments, such as those of Franco, Augusto Pinochet[citation needed] and Alberto Fujimori of Peru during the 1990s.[151] Both Pinochet's and Fujimori's ministries and prominent supporters allegedly included members of Opus Dei, but there are also prominent Opus Dei members in parties that opposed those governments. Likewise, among Opus Dei members there were also strong detractors of Franco, such as Antonio Fontán. There have also been allegations that Escrivá expressed sympathy for Adolf Hitler.[152][153] One former Opus Dei priest, Vladimir Felzmann, who has become a vocal Opus Dei critic, says that Escrivá once remarked that Hitler had been "badly treated" by the world and he further declared that "Hitler couldn't have been such a bad person. He couldn't have killed six million [Jews]. It couldn't have been more than four million."[154][155][156]
Opus Dei is based
1. Church is to socialize and to move upward in your christian society that you become a part of.
2. church is to vet your personality, your discipline level, your IQ level, and how much money you make.
3. Church is meant to confuse you with psychobabel so that you stay longer and tithe longer.
I really wouldn't go to church if I were you. I would start watching Jordon Peterson's bible series:
Then I would buy a good King James bible or just go to biblegateway.com
Reminder to go with the OSB
Daily reminder to go here and learn from people who have actually been to heaven.
Choose one and go. If you don't like it try another. Pray to the Father to open your eyes to a good church and put you where you need to be.
The Ten commandments are still applicable

How do you get passed all his blasphemy and open contempt for christians?

former Protestant, now a Catholic here. This is 100% true. Protestants are very good at welcoming newcomers.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church is currently the only one that follows Christ original plan for the Church
Just go, find a church that is moderately sized. Too big and you can get lost in the crowd, too small and it might feel weird for you. My recommendation is to not only attend the service, but ask someone what kind of after service groups they have. Most churches will have a singles group or an adult group that you can attend. This is where you can make real and lasting relationships.
If you are just going to find non-degenerates then the denomination doesn’t really matter. However, I would recommend Baptist
Baptist - No female preachers (yet) pretty traditional, basic, nice people, but millennial generation have turned it into a dating service.
Presbyterian - Started by Calvinism, a philosophy based on the idea that there is no free will and God saves who he wants without you being able to say or do anything to say otherwise. If you wanted to go to hell then sorry God may want you in heaven.
Methodist - Closely related to Catholic church, allow female preachers/ leaders.
Jehovah Witness - Don't allow members to talk about politics or vote. You can still vote but you can't talk about it.
Mormon - Crazy magic underwear, polygomists, and get your own planet when you die. Founded by Joseph Smith who purchased a counterfeit replica of an ancient Egyptian scroll. He claimed that the scroll was biblical text that he unburried after and Angle took him to ancient burial site. He never was even able to translate the document. It is worth the lulz to research this cult.
Catholics - The self proclaimed authority on the bible. The pope is God's ambassador and thus everything the pope says is the word of God. Stay away.
Because
Christianity is more than a religion bro.
Watch all of this before deciding.

Picking a denomination is not an exercise in finding a congregation which best suits your views and political leanings; this is a kind of protestant thinking.
Instead, ask yourself, if this religion is true - which of the denominations is the most legitimate, i.e. which of these churches was established by Christ and his apostles? This will lead you to Catholicism or perhaps schismatic Orthodoxy. Either way, you'll be partaking in the fullness of the faith by having access to the seven sacraments unlike heretical protestant churches.
God bless and good luck on your search for truth.
God created evil. There is no free will since God knows the future and you can't do anything he hasn't foreseen you doing. God makes the good guys good and the bad guys bad. In the end however everyone will be a good guy. Hell is real and it exists but it will not exist forever.
All those that go to hell will eventually get out. Everyone eventually goes to heaven.

Orthodox is based.
So did Christ pay the full price or not? What's left for the believer to do to attain salvation? I have faith in Christ's resirrection but what works are necessary considering Christ's sacrifice wasn't enough for catholics?
Orthodox vs catholic quick rundown?
And then ask yourself which Church puts itself above God?
Which Church has ruined the holy word?
Which Church over the past 2000 years has changed so much from what Christ wanted it is not what Christ established anymore.

Start by reading the catechism of the Church, if you start by reading the Bible you will get bored and say fuck it, also you will do like most protestants and simply interpret your own way versicles that are supposed to be interpreted in one way aligned with the Christian tradition
But here you go this is a comparison of the differences

Forge personal relationship with Him first
Almost none, both churches got amiable relations despite the schism, also both hate Protestants
You are the church. You are looking for a religion. Should start looking for an assembly.
Whatever. God bless.
Stop worship a jew on a stick.
If you don't believe in the religion then what's the point of going to church?
I get you, I love the concept of winsdom.
Peace be with you.
However in my church there are no pacific islanders that must be a local thing.

Fixed that for you m8
If you watch the video I posted here you'll understand how to the two of them now exist. Catholicism and Orthodoxy are more similar than protestant and other new age churches. They trace their legacy back to the early church.
Notice all the S E E T H I N G protestants that will tell you that Catholicism is satanic while Orthodoxy is just fine, pretty interesting given both are very similar with differences in some theology (e.g. purgatory, divorce) and church organisational structure.
Pro tip Protestants; Orthodox do not adhere to your heretical doctrines of faith alone and scripture alone either.
Remember that church is more about the experience than the fine print details. So if a pastor says something you don't like, let it slide and enjoy the peace you get from sitting in a room of happy people. Don't take the sin stuff too seriously, it means more along the lines of "missing the mark." Gnosticism is probably a more correct pathway, so don't sorry about getting a ticket to get to heaven or not saying the right combination of words and going to hell. There's many pathways and religion is more about community and self-improvement.
1700 actually. The Catholic church only started to worship on Sunday 300 years after creation.
Read the articles
its not about the theology, the catholic church is full of satanic pedos posing as christians
That's not a community you want to be a part of. There are 1300 different denominations and they are all wrong.

You exude the essence of a true boomer
I was raised by leftists too and became Christian on my own accord. It's actually not mythology. Dive in and find the Lord, you will see.
As far as denominations, stay away from Charismatics. Baptist is pretty trad/conservative
Everyone is human, so everyone is fallen. The best I can tell you is get into a church that leans on the bible every Sunday they teach. The priority is teaching from the scripture, in some way. If you find a church, and they're dependent on telling stories like Garrison Keillor, leave.
If they spend their time doing rituals, and never have any communication to the week's events or the community, leave.
Pray and ask God to show you where to go.
You can not change Gods day that. That is Gods day that HE alone chose.
No man on this planet can choose his day of rest he rested on Saturday and made it holy that is Sabbath
I have read all about Catholic Rome it had the power to topple kings and it lost that power. It wants that power back and you are all blindly following it. How about you read up on your history first and see why people like Martin Luther revolted
the guy is European - look at his flag
Yea, nobody memeflags...
I like to smoke crack on the Sabbath.
>considering Christ's sacrifice wasn't enough for catholics
This is a strawman of Catholic belief, if you're earnest about finding out what Catholics actually believe about salvation then I suggest you go on Catholic Answers and search for your question.
I just see them as mislead. Most the of the vitriol that comes out of them towards the Catholic Church is simply their parroting of whatever their pastor has told them. Conversely, we talk to about protestants at all during mass.
>Conversely, we talk to about protestants at all during mass.
don't talk about*
>There's many pathways and religion is more about community and self-improvement.
Wow, that's heresy outright. Christ said, explicitly, "nobody gets to the Father except through me."
So now, was he a liar? Was he crazy? If so, he has nothing worth trusting.
It's always better pic related.
>You can not change Gods day that. That is Gods day that HE alone chose.
Funny because as easy as you say, there aren't really documents dating exactly when did the life of Christ or even when St. Paul, aka the first pope, died or became a thing. The Church, like with Christmas, assumed a day that is closer to it, and stuck to it. I find it funny that you honestly believe that a decentralized institution 1500 years later can assume better the day of Christ than a institution that dates before Christ died. You have two options Prottie:
Either you accept the Church institution and the Bible assembled by it, which you use to guide yourself
Or you reject the Church authority and the Bible my friend
Have you ever jerked off to hentai or something? This cartoon makes me sick, you retarded fuck.
