I live in NYC. There’s this common scam where a black guy tries to sell you something, and if you say no or ignore them, they’ll yell “ARE YOU RACIST?” in an attempt to make scene. The idea is that the social pressure of everyone staring at you wondering what racist thing you did will make you buy something so the guy will back off.

It happened to me once. When the guy yelled “ARE YOU RACIST?”, I looked him dead in the eyes and said “Yes, so fuck off.” My wife was with me and started laughing, and the guy did a 180 and booked it out of there.

Why do they always act so tough when they accuse someone of being racist? Because whenever someone unapologetically admits they are, they run scared. Pretty weird.
