Am I the only one who does not experience loneliness? I literally do not think I have ever experienced it once. I actually prefer being alone to being around other people, as I generally find them tedious. In fact, when I am with others, I often find myself longing to be alone.

I assumed that the concept of "loneliness" was sort of a poetic conceit. I was under this misapprehension until probably my early 20's, when somebody finally sat me down and explained (apparently) it's a genuine emotion that some people feel.

Is anybody else this way? I would have assumed a forum full of NEETs would have at least a few others with the same inclination. I also strongly disagree with the theory that men experience loneliness more often or more strongly than women... in my experience, the exact opposite is true. I consider a propensity for loneliness to be a basically feminine trait. Men are often better at occupying themselves with hobbies, and aren't as dependent on others for emotional support.

I have no issue forming social or romantic relationships. I'm 5'11", good genes, 195 pounds of mostly muscle, studied classical literature in college and I'm a first responder. People seem to want my attention, I just don't really feel the need to respond most of the time because most people's lives are so narrow and trivial.

Women have to compete with each other over men, when there are female friends together and a chad appears, their bonds are severed and they must do everything they can to attract him.
