Lets have a real topic - Fixing the deserts

Want to know how to fix the deserts while making liberals and the hippie vegans scream?
Increase cattle presence by 400% on land that has been turned barren and it will regrow.

You provide food to millions of people in areas that currently can not grow food, you increase the fertility of the land meaning they can also start growing crops on that land as well as enjoying the increase in meat and to top it all off?
More water.

If you fix the deserts and restore them to grasslands guess what happens?
The water table returns to normal levels, amazing right?

Here are some good videos and other sources on the topic if you need some convincing.

MAKE AUSTRALIA GREEN AGAIN

"The Lobby: USA" documentary has been published. AIPAC personel got caught admiting crimes on tape, including spying on & harassing Americans on American soil on orders from Israeli Ministries, bribing congressman and using strawman election donors.
Pls watch & share, its 4 parts, part 1 here:

Hmm i was in that thread

bump?

Savory is pretty interesting.

>megafauna
>aboriginals
pick one
don't think too hard now

wtf are you on about?

aboriginals are responsible for the extinction of most australian megafauna
therefore, aboriginals are responsible for australia's climate change
megafuana can help to restore the climate, sure, but you're not addressing the real problem

Yeah no shit they are responsible?
They are also responsible for the water sucking pyrophiles spreading across the continent by setting it on fire for 80,000 years.
The point is fixing the problems, this is a worldwide problem not just an Australian problem.

>Want to know how to fix the deserts
Actually, we have a totally different problem here:
>In the centuries since its appearance, much of the Błędów Desert has been grown over. In 2013 and 2014 conservation efforts have restored some of the desert sands.[2]

>conservation efforts have restored some of the desert sands.
>restored some of the desert sands.
wtf why?
This is why Hippies should not be allowed to have an opinion.

Very interesting. Thanks.

This is good stuff OP. Thank you.

This is another successful method.

Desert-dwelling species have a right to exist too.

>make deserts
>most of the animals die
>we must conserve the deserts so that the few who are left can barely survive
They are extremophiles you really think living in a lush grassland would be bad in their eyes?
Any desert species would thrive in a better environment.

The town of Villa Gesell, Argentina was built by creating a pine forest over sand dunes. Pic related is the first house built there before and after afforestation.

No, they're adapted to survive in an extreme environment rather than take advantage of plenty. Critters that are adapted to more calorie dense environments are adapted to USE those calories rather than conserve them. They'll be wiped out.

Although admittedly I was lazy and didn't read the wiki link Pawel posted, there's no reason to save lifeless garbage land like that.

Yeah but what is truly natural?
What we see in our small snipped of history?
Or what ever the climate is currently?

You can't 'fix' the desert in Australia because the dirt is just silica oxides with no minerals.
Otherwise you have a good point.
Only edgeland Austalia is worth more than what is under it.

Nah it can be fixed, that shit can be an endless field of grass like Victoria has endless rolling green hills.

Nano clay will do it.

youtube.com/watch?v=-ARhNOE4rEc

Shit everywhere will do it.
Cows shit, grass grows in shit, soil builds up.

Well, we have only this one small desert and it's like our national curiosity/scenic spot.

Hey OP would it be worth it for me to buy some arid land in the American West with the aim of improving it and raising cattle?

Yes.
You need money and time to restore the land a bit before introducing cattle though.

Thx, a must see.

Good thread, bump for interest

Is there anything you can do on a limited budget to help the process of restoring a desert?
Even if it only has a small impact. I wager a lot of anons have more time and autism to spend than money.

I hope one day to do similar. I want to take a big piece of garbage land and restore it to its former beauty.

That would be my ultimate legacy.

Would probably depend on how motivated you are.
Basically what the guy in this video did.

Thanks for this good info

I also noticed a kind of white Renaissance on American farms. Whites are retreating to farmland, raising crops and cattle, and raising large white families

Cattle actually consumes more water and their hoofs ripping up the soil literally leads to desertification.
The real problem is invasive species and the over use of water.
