When it takes over the medium and effects not only bottom line business sales but just general fan investment. Some people flesh out a lot of time and money following books and characters just to have them wiped out and replaced with HYPER-COMPETENT-BLACK-FEMALE and there have been generations of these examples scattered all over comicsdom. They basically fail and then the original comes back anyways.
That's just one of the many points wrong with these. The other major point should be how comics or games or movies or shows should be about free expression of the creators and NOT propaganda. Propaganda here meaning art that is created to get you to think or behavior politically/socially in some way, usually with some unofficial backing by the official government/state. It's a thin line, but when you start drawing the President as the Bad Guy everywhere it inks up those lines and brings more attention to the not-subtle political details.
Lastly... ITS NOT FUN. ITS NOT ENGAGING. IT'S BORING. Comics are a great medium for exploring things that are hard to convey with live action or straight script. Colorful characters, environments, worlds and creatures. It's good for the human mind to be exposed to these things, young and old. Stories used to have good morals too and it's time to return to that.
