As a result Boston doesn't feel "urban" by the current usage of that word -- feels like a big suburb. No hip hop culture, hell there isn't even a good hip hop radio station. White people (albeit shitlibs) run the place, and it's palpable. White flight wasn't really a thing in Boston. And regarding the shitlibs, working class Boston really isn't like that. They're patriotic and affable and remind you of some old-fashioned Gran Torino America where you can still tease people for their skin color and ethnicity. I'll say as much I suppose, graduated from high school last year, students there where fairly based, but what's even more profound is how polarizing politics is up here, I'd say roughly 70% of people are a-political, but the other 30% just stands on opposite ends of the political spectrum.
