Trump can fix a broken company. GM needs to die. Most domestic car companies need to die and we need new domestic brands to replace them built here.

>Ford stops making most cars, it's all trucks and crossovers due to market demand

>GM is still trying to sell the Caprice

>they've been acting like dumbasses on and off since like, 1992 where it started to seem like they had terminal cancer in their poop shooters

really makes you wonder

Baildd out corp goes under. Color me surprise and why not talk about bombardierwhile we are at it.

>company only alive because of tax payer bailout
>used bailout to give bonuses to execs
yeah fuck em

>Trump can fix a broken company.
not is fault they're making shit cars nobody wants to buy

OH NO

WHITE AMERICANS ARE LOSING JOBS

THIS IS NOW BAD

DRUMPFS FAULT

Attached: 1536932726337.png (490x586, 44K)

These auto industry companies are literally owned by greedy jews. Global output is increasing yearly, its 95 million cars produced a year last i checked and yet they artificially price most of these cars at unreasonable prices despite their being an oversupply.

>economy is booming, more jobs than ever
>"lol trump is just taking credit for what obama did"
>one single company downsizes and lays off a bunch of workers
>"BLUUUUUUUUUMPF!!!"

>"North America"
>read "CANADA"
THE DAY OF THE RAKE FOREVER INCHES CLOSER

Have you smoked yourself retarded?
>Trump can fix broken companies
>GM needs to die

Ford lost a billion, GM layoffs, tariff war bullshit continues.....this is the beginning of a recession.
Giving enormous tax breaks to the wealthiest individuals and corporations probably wasn't a great idea either.

Shit company that acquiesced to unions to the detriment of itself.

>Giving enormous tax breaks to the wealthiest individuals and corporations probably wasn't a great idea either.

Could you explain for the class why that is?

ORANGE MAN 4D CHESS

I drive a Honda Hybrid, made in Japan.

40 miles to the gallon, had a new MSRP of $21,000, bought it as a trade-in coming off a 2-year lease, only had 20,000 miles on it and got it for $14,000

did I mention it was made in Japan? and not by some fat dumb union pig in Ohio or just over the border by some leaf up in the Toronto area ???

if GM starts building cars in Japan and shipping them over here and they get 40mpg and cost under $22k new, I'll think about buying one

More like what happened to Obama’s bail outs?

He didn’t waste tax payer money again, did he?

Unless those jobs are going overseas this has nothing to do with Trump

Nothing.

>north america

Just fucking say Canada, holy shit. Do you really have to say "north america" so its ambiguous as to whether the factories are closing in the USA? Can't just report the truth, have to bury it in a sneaky headline. I hate these fucking media kikes.

Amazon takes jobs and makes them pay nothing to a bunch of immigrants

hmm now white cant white boys buy trucks?

>american brand
>closing american factories
Wow that surely will help their sales

It’s ok. Those laid off factory workers have cushy coal mining jobs waiting for them.

Gm would have gone bankrupt in 2009 if not for Obama bailout money

Too much stock buybacks user.

Guess who profits from stock buybacks?

they will probably move their factories to better states.

Damn 14,700 lost jobs
You know what would help?
30,000 Hondurans
inb4 the media unironically go for that take

> (OP)
>Gm would have gone bankrupt in 2009 if not for Obama bailout money

Oh, the bailout they never paid back. Tax payers lost big on that one.

The car nobody is buying that is causing this is called the Chevy Cruze.
>Cruz

Attached: cruz.jpg (1825x1050, 294K)

>tfw you have a Chevy Cruze and you didn’t want one

It’s an alright car but you can get Korean and jap cars of a great quality at less cost

gee it's almost as if when a company makes shitty cars that break down within 5 years people stop buying them because they suck and buy from superior competitors, hmmm isn't that something like free market capitalism

>Chevy Volt
>Chevy Cruze
>Chevy Impala
>Buick LaSalle
>Cadillac XTS

All of those are Obama-era small cars. Ford also stopped producing most of it's car's period save for the Mustang and one of those ugly ass crossovers (Ford Focus Active)

Not only do America's fatass prefer SUVs and Trucks - all of the state and government mandated MPG (miles per gallon) fuel efficiency laws, which mostly apply to cars not trucks, have had hilarious effect on the industry: Big Three will just stop making cars.

Volkswagen also got in trouble for in recent years over emissions due to homosexual envirnomental standards here and in Eurabia.

Attached: 1543263940405[1].png (668x548, 577K)

>look mom. i'm the funniest guy on 4chinz

>The Chevy Volt didn't sell for shit

Small car factories closing because GM trucks are the only thing they have people want. Excluding the rich mans corvette.

I'd buy a Caprice, or Impy SS, or a rebadged Commo.

>company needed billions from the government to bail them out a decade ago
>still fails

they need to die.

Either you've got a big lazy engine that opens up when you need it or a tiny aluminum shit box red lining over 9000 turbo farts just to keep up with traffic.

I don't think Trump has any support outside of some subsets of boomers and literal rural retards. He may honestly go down in history as the most unnoteable president ever. He hasn't done ANYTHING in two years.

>Obama bailout money
It was the Bush Jr bailout which along with most other Bush Jr policies, Obabo either continued or expanded upon.

>Korean and jap cars of a great quality at less cost

I agree with you on Koreans cars but the Jap car prices have dramatically increased in price this decade.

Attached: hpUXxXg[1].jpg (3436x2291, 678K)

It seemed to do ok when it was nationalized for a minute. Too bad it was given back to the retards who crashed our economy

Time to renationalize. They’re going to keep pulling this shit and fucking over workers for profits.

Americans have been pushing frree trade all over the world for decades, I'm glad to witness them bit in the ass by their medicine.

Because GM can't make a good vehicle that people want to buy.

Ford F150 is the top truck sold in the world.

Where's that Constable Pan-Am gif?

Ford cars are shit anyway. Would rather buy a jap or Korean car. But when it comes to the truck, Ford is king.

1 plant closing in Ontario, 4 in U.S.

I just bought a brand new 2019 Kia Optima, loaded for 25K. Until GM or Ford can compete with a car comparable to what I got, for the price, I will stick to my imports.

Attached: 081CDC840882407383564E9EE53C2EDC.png (195x256, 37K)

Kia these days makes a damn quality vehicle.

I hope in that meeting with the CEO of GM, the White House said where's that fucking bailout money you owe the American people?

92-96 caprices are God tier shut yo mouth

>people cant afford to buy cars
>we need tax cuts for the rich

Euro spec domestic cars are pretty awesome too. They would sell well here. Rented a 1.0 litre turbo engine ford fiesta in ireland. Ridiculous mpg and it went like stink

F series, not F150.

Johny makes crackers he sells for 5 dollars

The average worker makes 10
Dollars but takes home 5 after tax. They do not buy many cookies.

Johnys profits are suffering so the government gives him a tax cut.

He now has more money to support his failing business which sells barely any cookies which no one can afford to buy.

Johny is rich!

Once again, the trickle down effect does not actually trickle down. You'd have thought this lesson was learned with Reagan.

Is this tax cut idea, for the wealthiest, within Trump's book or something?

Art of the Deal, Chapter 11

They are cutting 15% of their labor force because those 15% manufacture passenger cars like the Impala, Cruze, and the Volt. The passenger car market has been steadily decreasing over the years cause Americans prefer SUVs, so Chevy is discontinuing those marquees. Read the article you fucking tard

That rich people's reduced tax sure worked miracles.

It’s working exactly as planned. Destroy unions, cut wages, increase immigration of unskilled workers so they’re the bad guys, instead of the blood sucking psychopath CEOs.

yeah but the onions-latte-starbucks crowd wants a crossover

wow it's like the problem is they don't make any money on that and the new ones are piling up in the sales lot

foreman says these jobs are going boys
and they ain't coming back to your hometown
youtube.com/watch?v=7blckSDcLs0

Nah, they want an Uber.

>damn the government for letting Johny keep more of his money to support his business even if it isn't doing well

>onions
found the newfag

They're not moving overseas so who cares.

Attached: barackbutthurtmonkey.png (589x479, 351K)

Because the problems were bad quality products and over bloated CEO payoffs and golden parachutes. Down turns happen in the economy over; those car companies built their infrastructure and staffing on the idea of endless positive growth forever. Which anyone with any common sense will tell you is an impossibility. US Citizens' wealth shrunk so less potential buyers. When income is low, you want long lasting quality and value, most US car companies built paper cars for leasing and maximum profits not long term ownership.

I'm one of those later ones actually. I'm driving a 10yr old SUV, but I have enough money in the bank and a high enough credit score that I could be driving a $60K audi, but I don't because I'm hoping to buy a house in 2 years with $20K.

Attached: 1521197950567.png (657x527, 169K)

Tax cuts for the middle class and the rich who are unfairly taxed* try again sweetie

once the tariffs kick in manufacturing will come back

I like how it's simultaneously both Obama's and Trump's economy when you look at different sectors in the American economy.

GM is a shit company and only survived because Obama bailed them out with our taxpayer money against our will. Fuck em.

President Trump has done everything in his power to create jobs by empowering ICE and border patrol to deport illegals and reducing work visas to reduce competition from foreign workers, while cutting corporate taxes to encourage companies to move to the US or hire more Americans, AND enacting tariffs to discourage companies from outsourcing. There's a reason unemployment is at record lows. One company cutting jobs doesn't change that. If you're going to blame President Trump whenever a company cuts jobs, then you haven't been paying attention to anything he's done to successfully create jobs and raise wages.

Most of the cuts are in Canada and Mexico - so it is actually THESE jobs he is bringing back.

They'll become loggers in California.

Car manufacturers have been shit since Obama took office. Why pay $26K for a plastic sedan when 4x4 SUVs start at $28K? US car manufacturers were on a down turn in 2008 and they haven't been able to uplift themselves with value and quality.

>Car manufacturers have been shit since the 70s
FTFY

>mfw it filtered onions and you don't know it filters to onions

>other car manufacturers start operating factories in the US
>existing car manufacturers now forced to compete without help of import tarrifs
>don't improve and rely on handouts
>eventually fails
Maybe they will just go work at one of the other car companies that is expanding or building new facilities in the US

>More jobs than ever
>Massive corporations going out of business
>Tens of thousands getting laid off
Sure thing drumpfkin.

ohh a company that produces shit tier goods is going broke!
better implement socialism folks...

Economy is booming. That is GM's fault for making shit cars. Besides, those losses are more than made up by all the new US factories opened by Jap car manufacturers in the US. Honda and Toyota make a fuck ton of cars here now.

We have record low unemployment in this country. In fact, we have more job openings than there are people to fill them. We have far more than 14,700 openings.

Buick moved their plants to China with tax funded bailout. I agree this looks bad for Trump but WTF is he supposed to do?
Years of over priced cars and trucks. How many of us can afford or want to buy a 50 thousand dollar truck? People making 25 to 30 thousand a year can't afford it. Car companies had their chance to kick those insane union wage and retirement deals to the curb in 2008 by declaring bankruptcy and restructuring. My oldest brother retired from gm and gets 90 % of his wages for life. The auto industry has been on shaky ground for too long.

>Economy is booming
>Major corporations going out of business and tens of thousands losing jobs
Sure thing drumpfkin.

i have a 95 9c1
pure sex

Only one of those is in Canada (in Oshawa, actually), and it's about 3000 of those jobs that are from there. Not blaming Trump, but claiming it's all in Canada is as wrong as claiming it's somehow DRUUUUUUUMPFFFFF'S fault.

"W-WHAT IF TRUMP ACTUALLY *ISN'T* GOING TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN AND BRING BACK THE COAL MINING JOBS WE ALL WANT? I FEEL TOTALLY MISLED!"

They're here and they are still coming. Sorry you don't live in the US where you can see it all with your own eyes. Instead you have to cherry pick stories in order to go "Hurr durr....where all the jobs."

For example, I am currently going back to my local public college in order to get a certification as a Mechatronics tech. LOL, we literally have companies sending reps to our labs nearly every week, handing out job applications and asking us to stay in touch. And I just started this semester yet I already have 12 potential employers who would like to hire me as soon as I complete my certification. A few of the reps even told me the certificate isn't totally necessary, but it would help and guarantee me a job. Without completing the course, I would have to wow them in a personal interview.

Sorry, but there are more jobs than there are qualified people to fill them in the US right now. So once you get qualified, now you're going to have companies competing to hire you and you can choose the offer that best suits you and your personal needs.

>not mentioning almost all of those are in Canada

Maybe the government needs to subsidize all car companies the same as Tesla.

Attached: 1541401576320m.jpg (819x1024, 161K)

>Maybe the government needs to subsidize all car companies the same as Tesla.
Uh, we already bailed them out about 10 years ago.

Sorry, but fuck that. That's what you get when have Unions destroying a company's competitiveness in the marketplace.

WTF is a Mechatronics tech.

commie

>destroy unions
They destroyed themselves.
If the American labor movement were anything besides a source of Democrat campaign staff and contributions, they might still be relevant. At the very least one of our two major political parties would have a pro-labor immigration stance, you know something wildly popular like mandatory e-Verify, with or without civil asset forfeiture/white collar prison sentences/public executions. Instead we have, Trump’s ineffectual border wall theatre and the Left shouting “No human is illegal” with Grover Norquist’s dick on their breath. The main idea behind unions is to restrict the supply of labor to win consesssions from capital. American unions think their job is to boost politicians who have the Cato Institute where their brains ought to be.

GM actually got a revenue bump since Trump took office. Their problems are their own creation.
