The interesting thing is, however, that Ford happens to have been the only American automotive business that did not accept a bailout and their stock price has done rather shittily especially in comparison to GM. GMAC (a loan branch of GM, but still GM) should have been severed from existence and never received a bailout, ever. But they have been able to bring money to their shareholders. This occurs and may have more to do with the realignment occurring with having to buy American made steel than anything else. We will see... sometimes it is smart to close some locations to stay afloat.
