I think this is the point. It's not that the names come from an Anglo or white identity. It's that there is a history, context and identity behind the names. These might even be negative for example they talk of >former Western Australia Governor James Stirling, alleged to have led a massacre in 1834.
Or like the statues in the US which might now be seen in a negative context by some. They give the place is history and identity, to change them is to replace that history and identity
