That's just rhetoric. If you look at the actual policies that have been implemented in the last 50 years, we've slowly been lurching further and further to the right. Obama deported more illegals than any previous president, and had an identical foreign policy to both bushes & Clinton. W built a hard border with mexico without anyone asking him to. Clinton's entire nafta policy was written by right wing economists. Reagan/Bush need no introduction. Carter was a dixiecrat. Both Ford and Nixon had right wing administrations. Johnson was also a dixiecrat.
I don't doubt that you believe that our country is full of leftists, because when you're the furthest right possible, everyone else IS leftists.

Not even close. In America, socialist has been a dirty word since the end of WWII, to say nothing of socialist policies. We've only just gotten around to the healthcare debacle, and we've been attempting it since FDR. Bernie's the only one who really fits your bill, and even then he's tame compared to leftism in western Europe. France's last president was an actual socialist, of the French socialist party.
