but there is no pope, no central authority. Communion between churches is different from papal domination. Even patriarchs don't have the same authority over the bishops in their area. Technically, the patriarch has no more theological authority than your local bishop. This is starkly constrasting to the papal model, where the pope has absolute theological authority.
