also I should probably mention that in the north west the family unit ironically is mostly intact. it's only been the last couple of generations that have begun to fall away from familial cohesion. my great grandmother for example who was old school scouse was the most family oriented person I've ever known and her sentiments are pretty typical for old school and even most nu-school scousers.

I think again this goes back to the decimation of industry in the north west, families that stuck together and bonded the most survived and thrived the most and we're still seeing the benefits of this today. so I summise that in the future the more the shit hits the fan in the north west the more cohesive scouse families will become once again, reminiscent of the pushback against de-industrialisation and then perhaps the north west will become a beacon of hope for the rest of the UK.
