PVC can still be leeched through with metal. Play it safe and use a food vacuum sealer and rolls of the stuff. Seal gun in 1 bag, seal ammo in another, seal cleaner/oils in another, etc. This will keep everything as dry as possible in case water does get into the tube somehow.
