So this soldier and I met while he was in my city for special training. Instant connection and sparks on both sides. He has admitted to wanting to start a relationship with me. However he is being deployed soon. So he wants to wait until his deployment is nearly over, but have us keep in contact. So I totally understand and respect that.
We agreed to keep in contact, but I'm planning a few surprise care packages for him. I have all the snacks he loves, and for the most part I can send those.so I have food covered. But what other things can I send for him? I've never sent a care package before and I want to send him a few to keep his hopes up. Any ideas and advice?
I was never deployed, but during basic training my family sent me pictures and handwritten letters telling me about what was going on at home. It was nothing exciting, but I read all of the letters over and over again and the pictures of my mom with my dog literally made me cry. It might be different since you don't know each other well yet, but hand written letters are rare these days and can really show someone how much you care about them.

I planned on doing that. Before he left for his normal base, I left him my favorite book, along with a handwritten letter.
I'm big on letters. On writing in general. I adore it. He is deployed on his birthday so I was going to send him a book I started to write, that he inspired. And give him the only handwritten copy.
Jonathan Rodriguez
Damn that's really sweet of you. Seems he has good taste in girls.
Christopher Kelly
Porn and alcohol
Austin Walker
Fapping lubricant. Water based. You're welcome.
Hudson Collins
Send him some letters with photos, perhaps a tease photo for his birthday and that.
I know I'd be ecstatic to receive the snacks, letters and photos from a girl I like.
William Jones
Chef Boyardee ravioli cans and baby wipes
Noah Scott
I was just imagining OP actually sending all the suggested items. No notes or anything, just ravioli, lube, some porn and cleanup gear. Fucking weirdos.
Aiden Evans
Don't send him porn or alcohol, that could be illegal wherever he is deployed.
Send baby wipes, those are worth a lot when you can't shower or need to shit in the middle of nowhere. Maybe some hand sanitizer.
Best deployment foods imo is beef jerky and protein bars. Nuts or sunflower seeds are good too.
Send a nice letter with a cute picture to remind him what he's missing (he'll probably fap to the picture)
Sebastian Brooks
When I was deployed, I always enjoyed getting things like 5-Hour Energy, beef jerky, word searches/crossword puzzles, soap (though I always had a surplus, it never hurt to get more), and pictures of family/friends.
Don't be afraid to ask him if he has any creature comforts he misses after a few weeks. I know I was jonesin' for Goldfish crackers after about a month underway
Blake Brown
I appreciate this. He loves anything cheesy and peanut butter. So I'm breaking my one big rule for myself. I'm going to bake him some homemade peanut butter cookies. (I never bake for any man unless I've dated them for a year because I always bake from scratch and it is a lot of work)
I appreciate the ideas though. I'm compiling a list of things I can send him. At this rate, he is going to be receiving a few packages lol.
I was curious. Would muscle rub/the muscle patches be okay to send? I know he mentioned how whenever he is deployed his back aches... And that's a small creature comfort. :)
Owen Diaz
I actually had an idea to go to a photo booth with some signs saying come home soon and be safe and I miss you. And send him those. :)
Not only is he getting a nice letter, I got a little journal, and I've been filling it with short stories. He knows I love to write, and has expressed interest in reading my writing. And these short stories I wrote are just for him.
I am definitely going to send him baby wipes. Lots of them! And hand sanitizer is a great idea
Zachary Lewis
Lol actually knowing him, he would probably lose it laughing.
But I also would never be able to send him a package without a letter or two in it lol. I gotta remind him of how much I miss him!
Camden Hernandez
I sadly can't send a tease photo. Not where he is going. But the rest he is going to get lol.
He actually admitted to me he is going to try and get transferred over to the base near me when he gets back. There is a unit or something he wants to work with out here and I encouraged him to do that. And he grinned and told me, it wasn't just because of the team that he wanted to come back here.
This man already has me wrapped around his fingers. Before he left, he gave me his hat for field training because he wanted me to have something to remember him by. That hat goes with me everywhere when I can't wear it, and it's on my head the rest of the time.
Hunter Clark
Lol he can't have that where he is going. If he could, I totally would send it!
Nolan Parker
He can have neither of those.lol. and not because I don't wanna send it to him. If I could, I'd send him a bunch of homemade pron just for him.
Gabriel Sullivan
Jesus christ is no one here a soldier? DO NOT for the love of god send snacks, his DS will probably find it and then make him eat them all whilr everyone gets in the front leaning rest. Just send him photos and letters that would make him feel hapy because the only thing he’l get to do is read them over and over again
Jack Powell
Lol thankfully. I am sweet and caring a lot of the time. But he is the first guy who has caught my attention and made me feel something in a very long time. I wrote off men because for some reason I attract shitty fuckers. And he... He is a goddamned gentleman. Stoic, sweet, caring, thoughtful, kind, gentle...
When he was still here I was having a bad day and he drove out twenty minutes just to give me a hug because I needed it.
Logan Turner
Why did you not go to Jow Forums with this question? There is an enlistment thread right there on the first page full of boots that would have given you an itemized fucking list.
Kayden Reed
Because I've never been on Jow Forums so I didn't know. :/
Jayden Carter
He doesn't answer to the DS. The DS answers to him, so I don't think he'd have to worry about that lol. He did say he would like some snacks, but he didn't really tell me anything other than don't send chocolate.
Wyatt Russell
Blankets are nice to have. If he is deployed in the middle east then porn and alcohol is a no go in those countries. Expect for him to deal with some stressful times too.
t. deployed soldier
Aiden Richardson
It's the middle East. A blanket is a great idea! And it'll be a great cushion for the rest of the items in the box too!
Angel Bailey
Yep. Posted on Jow Forums Worst idea ever. I got the most trollish answers ever. Thanks user.
Tyler Perry
She said deployed, not going to basic/ recruit training. Are you retarded?
Carson Hall
This sounds really sweet. Even if you two don't work out he's lucky to have you right now.
Bentley Jones
I hope we do. He is the best thing that entered my life.
I've never had a great man, or real chemistry with someone before him. I've been the girl that dated abusive fucker after abusive fucker. But he is different.
Our first date we got hammered and I sat in the back of his truck bawling my eyes out over everything, and he just held me and soothed me. And even so, after he brought me home and carried me into bed, he still wanted to see me again. That says something. He is just so sweet and caring. He takes care of me. I had a bad day and he drove out twenty minutes just to give me a hug to soothe me. I have PTSD from a really abusive ex. And one night I had night terrors and he calmed me and got me to relax enough I could go back to sleep, and he made sure I was out and not gonna wake up before I was asleep. He is the man I can truly see a future with, and not as a choice to settle. There is so much damn chemistry and sparks between us, and I never thought I would have that.

Send him a letter about random places and things you would want to do with him Personally I think small things like going to the movies and explaining in a lot detail what you like about the place and what you think he will like.
