I just ask this because one of the big arguments that meat eaters use to justify their barbarity is "animals do it why can't I?" Well, animals actually kill their food, you're getting it off an assembly line. Are you sure there isn't at least some cognitive dissonance behind your meat eating if you've never actually went in and cut the pig's neck yourself? Never actually delivered the mortal blow?
Just saying that's something that's most likely different between you and wild animals who have to eat meat for food. Oh that and many of them can only subsist on meat, whereas you can go without it. For food, I am obviously ok with killing animals for food. It's human nature, and we need animal nutrients for survival. A plant-based diet is deficient in over 50 nutrients (A, B6, B12, F, K2, heme-iron, cholesterol, fish oil DHA EPA, creatine, carnosine, taurine) etc. and lead the deficiencies and disease. All the plant sources have atrocious conversion rates and supplements do not convert bioavailably for the body to use.
Humans needs animals to survive optimally, and killing them yourself would bring you back to nature.
It is quite humane to do it yourself and environmentally friendly when going after game like deer in areas without natural predators.

Absolutely, grew up on farm we raised cattle, goats, horses. We lived in a tight-knit community of other farmers we had a church with. We’d get together on saturdays every now and again and butcher, process, and freeze the extra meat we had. Have a big party!
