How do I quit using Jow Forums? This website (and especially Jow Forums) is horrible for my mental health, I just wanna stop using it, forever. How do I accomplish this?

I understand how you feel. Your best bet is to find another community to replace Jow Forums. I may be speaking from my own point of view but generally you stay here because you've nowhere else to go, and can post safely and anonymously as many times you want. Keeping a diary instead of posting on r9k might be helpful.

What else is there?

I like Jow Forums because I've learned to filter it so to speak. You might try to see if there's a discord group you like, or some site dedicated to something you enjoy with a forum attached... Once you're bound to having an actual ID instead of being anonymous you can give yourself actual rules like only posting twice a day etc.

Get banned for life?

Ban evasion, duh. It's easy to do and I can't stop myself.

But I have to say if you're looking for stimulating discourse with well versed free thinkers, you're likely going to have trouble outside Jow Forums. Everyone here is so smart and blessed with the finest humor

Well to be honest, I enjoy coming here to read miscellaneous stuff. I rarely post anyway, but Jow Forums /x/ Jow Forums and maybe /vg/ (for the games that I play) are my go-to places.
I don't think the site does any bad per see, it's just non-normie facebook. If you don't get addicted to looking at it 24/7 it's fine.

You're here forever , you come here because we understand you and like you and yu need the bear minimal human contact

Abandon Jow Forums and hang out exclusively on Jow Forums or /mu/. I had to stop visiting /b/ because it was bad for my mental health. Some of the boards here are less fucked up, if you can't break your habit entirely..

>Everyone here is so smart and blessed with the finest humor
Please, please tell me this statement was ironic. at least 70% of this entire site are easily swayed contrarian retards

you dont
you should stop visiting Jow Forums though

Of course it was ironic you doofus

By having so many obligations that your free time is used to sleep eat and shower.

You have too much time on your hands. I only come here late at night when im winding down from my day. I would loose my mind if i was on here for any longer.

Blind yourself?

hehe thanks for the chuckle user

Screen readers + stick to text-based boards.

Download one of those browser extensions where you can restrict access to certain websites.

It may also help if you get yourself banned from here, just claim to be underage or something to get permabanned

>Keeping a diary instead of posting on r9k might be helpful.
I think I'll need to find another community too, but I'm going to give this a try.

Good job, Robot.
You may yet become a real boy.

Jow Forums isn't any better

Jow Forums is just Jow Forums on roids. Literally.

It's interesting because before Jow Forums I had stuff to do, yet now I feel like I have nothing else to do without it. That's why I've often failed in leaving for good. I've managed to stay away from /b/ for a while, and I'm working on /r9k at the moment.

It's addictive. It uses feedback loops which are very alluring to your brain. You treat it like any other addiction. Mindfulness, abstinence and distraction.

Pro tip: classical conditioning and reward based learning applies to humans.

Make a deal with yourself you won't go on Jow Forums tomorrow. Give yourself a reward or gift if you succeed. This actually works.

What kind of reward would that be? Should be difficult to balance between spoiling yourself and a completly unalluring reward...

Literally. Anything. Your brain doesn't talk value its happy with a damn ice cream bar.

Put it to you this way. Jow Forums is addictive because of a feedback loop. Everytime you shit refresh there *might* be new content.

Also voice an opinion and you *might* get validated.

That's the addictive portion, your brain is fucking nuts over that shit. It isn't huge. And it isn't hard to compete with if you are aware how your reward system works. It simply wants *something* for doing *anything*.

You can apply this across your entire life.
