I'm a writer and I don't even read that often. Not that reading is in anyway morning or outdated. It's main purpose is to express information or share a story, and film does that better 8 out of 10 times. I will admit that reading is good for finding those deep hidden ideas about life. Someone, somewhere, has a book made especially for you. But give it 15 more years and books will likely only be a novelty.

This is what i want, except more practical knowledge books, not just history books. When i get the money and develop a photographic memory, i want to do this. I want a based archive of humanity before society collapses.

Regular reading is a complete waste of time. Photographic reading is 100 times faster and the retension is 100% for life. Just look up Zox Pro. It looks like a scam, but it really isn’t. I’ve personally been through the program. It really works, and it changes your life completely. Few people know about this.

I stopped turning on my PC first thing in the fucking morning to after 21:00 and instead use my shitty linux laptop to do work.
Something changed in me:
-I want to go out more
-I want to practice my skills
-Apply for jobs
-Read books, because of all the downtime I don't want to smoke and stare at a wall

Yeah, it’s a significant amount but it’s much better and also cheaper than the photoreading program. Photo reading is run by a mega corporation, a conman,is not as good, and is three times as expensive.
I will warn you that the zox program is old, a little disorganized and confusing, but some of the things in it are powerful.
You also will probably need further explanation on how it works. So you’ll have to email the support and maybe pay for a few a calls with the owner to help guide you through the process.
Just giving you a heads up.
If you can make it through all that, you will have success. It just depends on how much you value access to information and knowledge. To me, a few hundred dollars is well worth it for the ability to digest any book in minutes.

This is why you go to estate sales and used book stores. About once a month I get a set of 100-150 year old books that sell on AbeBooks or Ebay for easily over $100 and I get them for $3.

At an estate sale several months back (see my first comment here: ) I got the full set of 1850 dictionaries at the top for $1 each. Poor condition but easily worth $50 each because of their age. I don't sell books because I am archiving, but...great deals and you can make money if you want.

Another good find...I got a three book set "The History of the Inquisition" from 1880 that goes for about $150 last month. Plus they are really good books.

Old books have an above college reading level. Really opens your eyes to read something from 1850. Every book from then reads above a college level. Most college students would have to stop every 5th word to look it up.

PS - If you have old books, you need old dictionaries.

Those books take up a lot of space that could be better used used for porno dvd's and computer games.

There is no profit incentive as no one would publish them and there is the big deterrent of "you might go to prison for hate speech"

You might want to start by reading "the shallows" it isnt an especially amazing book but it will wake you up to the damage that your brain is dealing with currently and how to fix that completely.

Many of mine (about 70%) are from my previous job as a printer.
They always print more copies than the customer needs, then bin the overs. Nearly all the examples in the pic are rescued.
I also worked at a book distributor for a time, and got a 40% staff discount. 2 really good jobs for a bibliophile.
