I worked up until I got pregnant and saved a bunch of money that we put into savings. My husband has a higher paying job but he’s not home too much. It sucks but he has to provide. That’s why I’m a stay at home mom and homeschool while he takes care of us financially. Have your own garden and make homemade meals to save money. We don’t usually eat out. Couponing is great too. There’s a lot of ways to save money, people just love to spend it on everything. I know kids are expensive but that’s why it’s best to make your own stuff. Hopefully your husband can get a good stable job. Just hang in there.

What? Women working at home and around the house has been standard shit since we discovered agriculture. Ofc back in the day (or in most parts of the world right now) there was no washer, drier, electric/gas stove, running water, vacuum cleaner, sewing machine etc so working at home actually was a lot of work.

The housewife had a few golden decades where they got all the benefits of living in the western world. The standard of living was high, infrastructure existed so no need to carry water/wood, manufactured goods was cheap so making/mending clothes was more of a hobby, machines made washing/cooking/cleaning a lot easier then before. Then the rest of the world catched up, industry was moved to low wage countries, women entered the work place and drove down wages at home and the FIAT system ended up working in the same predictable way it has always worked.

This isn't coming back.
