There is absolutism for the profit motive. When the boomers sent jobs overseas, it wasn't just to be dicks, it was to make a profit.
A lot of regressives here, who just want to be as far opposed to progressives as possible, find themselves defending capitalism because they perceive their enemies as socialists and want to do the opposite, which according to Cold War logic is capitalism. But capitalism, or corporatism, or whatever semantics you'd like to use for this system that surrounds us, is inherently anti-fascist in its preference for profit over people or land. A fascist would never sell you the bullets you need to kill his children, but a capitalist absolutely would, relying on the invisible hand of the free market to compensate for his own deliberate lack of moral agency. Or, failing that, relying on his ability to move to a compound behind a big fence while the rest of the nation Brazilifies.
